We did the whole autograph book at WDW and while it is fun it is a little time consuming. We only have 3 days there and I am just concerned with the time change we will not spend as much time as we would like there so we are not wanting to spend it in line with characters KWIM??
I sure do know what you mean! I keep thinking that at almost 10 my daughter will be done with autographs but no such luck. Here is what I have found: Snow White is frequently at her wishing well throughout the day. The other princesses will have meet and greets over on the other side of the castle (the Frontierland side). Over at DCA, there is a stage area near the Monsters Inc ride. When we were there in June, Cinderella, Fantasia Mickey and Woody did a little show there and then had a meet and greet afterwards. I can't remember if that was listed on the schedule or if we asked a cm (I had heard about this on the dis). If the official park opening is later than 8:00 a.m., Main Street will open 30 minutes early and often characters are there. Most visits, we have had great luck meeting characters (Mary Poppins, Bert, Aurora, Wendy, Peter Pan, Goofy, Mickey to name a few) near the theater where the 50th movie currently is and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln normally is. That is so nice when that happens, because you can score some autographs with little or no lines before the park even officially opens. We didn't see this in June however, during peak seasons the park is generally opening at 8:00 and even when it opened at 9:00 one of our days, there were no characters on Main Street that early. Throughout the day on Main Street, Mickey and Minnie as well as other characters will have meet and greets near the flag pole and fire station.
Obviously the best and easiest way to meet princesses galore is at Ariel's Grotto in DCA for lunch and dinner. If you have been to WDW, its a lot like the meal in Norway at Epcot, in that the princesses sort of come to each table, one at a time in an organized manner, not just wandering around at random. The Minnie and Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn has Minnie and usually Fairy Godmother among others. Those are both good character meals timewise because they are in the park which saves time.
I see you have been to WDW lots of times. I have found that character meet and greets at
Disneyland are less organized with the exception of the Pooh and Friends one in Critter Country near Splash and the show I mentioned above at DCA. However some of the character meals, Goofy's and the Minnie and Friends in particular have a wider variety, larger number of characters than any character meal I have done at WDW. At Goofy's you will always see at least one princess, plus Goofy, Pluto and usually Minnie as well as several other characters. If you were only going to do one character meal and wanted the biggest variety of characters, Goofy's would be my suggestion. Unless its all about the princesses, than Ariel's would be the best. Good luck!
