We've done 8:00 or 8:05 reservations at H&V the last three years and we've always been finished by 8:40 so we could leave the restaurant and be ready to run for JTA signups. We've never waited more than a couple of minutes for our reservations...at 8:05, you're the first seating of the day so there is no opportunity for it to get backed up. Maybe later reservations run into that problem, but the first ones of the day don't. Don't bag the H&V reservation...waits for Sofia alone in the park will be 30+ minutes first thing. It's such a huge timesaver!
The problem I see with the plan is that you won't be allowed to leave the area of the restaurant until RD (unless this is an EMH day)...they hold diners in the area until the park officially opens. We've done H&V at 8:05, then ran to JTA signups, then ran to TSM for a standby ride, then hopped in the Buzz & Woody line and were back out front by 9:30. It's definitely doable!
Perfect info as it seems our itinerary is similar to yours.
