Help me make Hollywood Studios a full day park

But how much time will Buzz/Woody cost me if I get there at 8:45 after my breakfast at H&V? I heard Mike & Sully are never more than 20 minutes especially on a crowd predictor of 3 day. Lightning and Mater are just statues, correct? Meeting Jake, Sophia, Handy Manny and Doc at breakfast. Don't care about Stitch, Wreck, Incredibles as those are beyond my 3yo, or the traditional characters as we have meets set up with them through the week. Only one I really want to meet is Sorcerer Mick.

Well they are cars. Not moving or talking but real full sized cars. They have a line with an attendant and a photopass person atleast they did last September. So there can and may be a wait for them.

Not sure if either suggestion is right for your kids, but I have two suggestions to pass the time at HS. First, we love the drawing class. Second, consider getting on the boat to the Boardwalk area and just walking around for a few minutes. You can get some ice cream or see one of the street performers and then take the boat back.

If you are in line for Buzz/Woody at 8:45 you would likely be ok. But, I anticipate the character meal taking longer than you have allotted, which pushes everything else back. Also, you'll want to keep in mind that HS usually opens it's gates early. Even if an attraction (or character) does not officially start until 9:00, the line may begin forming before then.

Out of curiosity if the meal takes 50 minutes and we get to TSMM at 9am and ride it once, then head over to meet Buzz and Woody right after, how long do you anticipate this will take to accomplish?

Definitely plan a lot of time for H&V. We spent 30 minutes just waiting to get a table, and it was like that the last couple times we were there. They always seem to be running late.

Hmmmm, this makes me consider bagging this meal and just doing RD. Although I've heard the character interaction is one of the best we'll find.

I will be going with a 37 inch 3yo DS and my DW. So Star Tours, RaRC, TOT are all for size reasons (And I'm not insane enough to take him on the latter two, although I did sneak a FP+ in there for Star Tours.)

I've been playing on TP for 2 days now trying to maximize our day. The problem is I just can't seem to fill almost 3 hours of free time including planning "breaks" (Character meet and greets I've scheduled manually since you can't build them in to TP) and a planned 2 hour break to rest in the afternoon at the hotel. Easiest solution would be to make this a day to hop, but I really want to hit all 3 ADRs. He's a huge Handy Manny fan so the character breakfast with interaction is huge. SciFi lunch is my only chance to hit my favorite restaurant and Brown Derby dinner I've heard is great and gets us VIP for Fantasmic. Based on my plan, can anyone make suggestions how we can fill our day?

Here's a glimpse of our day (Sorry it's a bit blurry. No other way to share TP that I've found)

I think your wait times are really off. You probably have a full day here already and I would definitely add B&B and VoLM. I was there Dec 2012, during low season beginning of month. We waited 35 minutes to see Woody and Buzz. 30 Minutes for breakfast might cut it if they seat you immediately. Just seems like there is more time waiting and walking from thing to thing then you have here. So seems like a full day.

Oh and since you don't know how I tour... We were in front of RD, went to TSM immediately and saw Buzz immediately after ride. Our line started outside the building and we watched the army men. It's kind of what everyone does so the line adds up quickly and they seem to take a lot of time with each family. I got about 12 pics there on PP.

Also - too much food. And I'm an eater.

Don't bag H&V. It's a good meal and the character interaction really is pretty good (probably just behind Garden Grill for me and I don't watch Disney Junior).

Try to be a little flexible. If your plans start to crash and burn because you're on such a tight schedule and it's not going well, it'll make you hate the park.

When we were there last December (crowd level 4) we arrived at the Buzz & Woody M&G at 9:15 and the wait was an hour. I don't know if that's always the case, but we were pretty surprised and disappointed with how quickly this line formed! You might have better luck.

Wow an hour that early! Wish you could FP+ that meeting, I'd have no problems doing so as that is my Buzz obsessed DS' #1 priority.

Last year, with moderate crowds, we came in at the front of rope drop, rode TSMM, and got in the Buzz and Woody line before they opened the doors. I think we ended up waiting in line about 20-25 minutes. We didn't expect it to take quite that long first thing in the morning, but the line moves pretty slowly.

I agree that it would nice as an FP+ opportunity. But the space is pretty small and I don't think a second queue could be added.

20-30 is far more manageable. Hopefully the line moves slow because of thelevel of interaction the kids get with them.

Hi there! I saw buzz and woody the first week of May 2014, and by 11 AM it was a 60 minute wait, if that helps you! Also, when we went the interaction was incredible. We didn't even have any kids in our party and they spent a lot of time with us and were very animated and energetic. This was also the case when I saw them here back in 2010.

I hope you have a great trip! I'm sure you'll all have lots of fun :)

I agree! It's one of the VERY FEW things I would wait an hour for. We didn't wait that morning, but kept checking back all day and finally got in line right before park closed and STILL waited an hour. But Buzz and Woody are to my son what Anna & Elsa are to princess-crazed little girls. So we waited. And it was worth it:)

That said, I wouldn't worry too much about an extra two-hours in your schedule. Inevitably something will end up taking longer than you anticipated, and having a cushion will make it not so stressful. Hope you have a great trip!

I was looking under the days we are there and it gives a list of attraction times including meet and greets, all in one place on one day. It may come in handy for you to write yours down or put them in your phone, you just have to plug in the day you are going

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/calendars/hollywood-studios/#timeofday=allday

We will be there in 14 days, and my two daughters and I just sat down yesterday, looking at everything and changing fast passes, since it is difficult to get 4th in HS and epcot anyway, we just planned our whole day on 3 and will be there for RD for TSM. There is lots to do really. Everything always takes more time than you originally expected. :smickey:

There are many characters that meet near that Hat. Stitch, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Chip and Dale. They meet all morning and their final meet and greet is about 2:30pm

We've done 8:00 or 8:05 reservations at H&V the last three years and we've always been finished by 8:40 so we could leave the restaurant and be ready to run for JTA signups. We've never waited more than a couple of minutes for our reservations...at 8:05, you're the first seating of the day so there is no opportunity for it to get backed up. Maybe later reservations run into that problem, but the first ones of the day don't. Don't bag the H&V reservation...waits for Sofia alone in the park will be 30+ minutes first thing. It's such a huge timesaver!

The problem I see with the plan is that you won't be allowed to leave the area of the restaurant until RD (unless this is an EMH day)...they hold diners in the area until the park officially opens. We've done H&V at 8:05, then ran to JTA signups, then ran to TSM for a standby ride, then hopped in the Buzz & Woody line and were back out front by 9:30. It's definitely doable!

The key with Buzz and Woody is getting in line before they come out, if possible. But if you do TSM and then get in their line first thing you shouldn't have a long wait at all. We've been the second and third party in line before, after riding TSM standby.
