As for
DVC, we own only SSR ... but also have two
other timeshare products.
If I were to own a second or third DVC location
it would be for geographical diversity. I've long regretted NOT completing a VGC resale contract we started just before the first round of restrictions kicked in. It was a different UY than our SSR but, looking back, would have perfectly met our DLR travel window which is vastly different than our WDW travel window.
As for the
other timeshare products, our 1st and favorite timeshare is a points system with 70+ locations, many a short drive from our home. We use this system at least 6x/year for short stays, weekends, celebrations, etc. We've also used this system to string together longer road trips along the Pacific Coast or National Parks.
The remaining timeshare satisfies two goals: day use at the resort and RCI trader.
In the past, we owned two additional timeshare products, both of which dissolved and were closed/sold as they aged. Of these,
day use was the main consideration of one and "cheap, cheap, RCI trader" was the primary draw for the other. I miss both of them ... but especially the day use one.
