Hi everyone We are leaving for WDW in 2 months and I need some help of any kind. where do I start?

Hi Shelly,

You have found a great place that is a fountain of info. Let's start with: have you mades reservation? I'll try to talk you through what I can or point you to better people who can. I love the World and can't wait to go back even though we don't have a trip planned anytime soon. I still love to help plan trips for other peple.

WE have our reservations and are going to be there from Sept. 25th - sept 30th. We are staying at the Pop Century. We have 5 children and want to get as much our of the trip as we can!
Thanks!

Okay Shelly I'll be right back I need to finish a phone call then be right back to answer the questions I can or you can email me at tina_d78@yahoo.com if that would be more convient for you. :goodvibes

I would sit the kids down and go on the disney web site and see the rides they would like to try...I don't know their ages. Go to the Library and borrow a couple of books on WDW. I would also look on the DIS Home page and get the hours of the parks and parades, so you know. Then I would make a list of what you really wanted to do in each park. Read up on the Fast pass system, and look over some dining guides or go to www.allearsnet.com and look for the menus...at least have an idea of options. Don't over plan every minute...but know what is available for you to try.

It seems like you got your question answered, so welcome to the DIS!

We are not telling our children until we are leaving. This is a big surprise for them. They think we are going to the beach. Someone had mentioned that you could check out when the parades were. Where is that on the website?

WELCOME to the DIS - make yourself at home

You'll find some very friendly people around here

I am a big fan of this site when I need to get answers direct from experts, but I would be lost without my other resources as well. On our first trip I subscribed to tourguidemike.com That reallly helped flesh out an outline. Also, I love the books : The Unofficial Guide to WDW and the passporter. All together those resources cost about 60 bucks.....a minor investment in a big vacation.

Our family finds that dining is a big part of our trips...the restraunts are as entertaining as some of the attractions! If that is of interest to you, the books I referenced will be a good start to choosing places. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions in the different forums here.
