A $3k trip in a month or so and i have lost my happy spirit of excitement.
can anyone help?

I am sick of work and sick of the stupid people i work with. I can't wait to be on vacation.... I've lost my focus and hope that my schedule is ok, again, not in the mood to go over it....
yikes!
:(

I know the feeling. I can't wait for my trip in DEC.

To get back in the mood, why don't you watch some of your favorite Disney movies, watch the planning video, try to catch one of the specials on the travel channel, look at last trips photos, read your guidebook while listening to Disney music...

 It will come back. I promise.

Ditto what Esmeralda said about watching videos and reading guidebooks.

Can you dress up your workspace a bit? Maybe put a Disney screensaver or wallpaper on your computer, put up pictures of WDW, and other Disney things? I have LOTS of Tigger items in my cubicle, and a Mickey business card holder.

And I watch anything I can catch on Travel Channel about Disney, and I watch my old WDW planning videos when I can't.

Do you have all of your travel stuff organized? For me, that's part of the fun, and it takes my mind off other things.

Good luck, it's just a little while more before you get there!

I have "Welcome Foolish Mortals" as my new email announcement, and when I start up my computer and click on the user, it says "Welcome to the Magic Kingdom".

So I always have a little bit of Disney at work. On our computer at home, we found a background of Jessica Rabbit & Patty Cake Lounge. We recently had to have it checked and the techs at my DD's school & Tech academy looked at it for us. When they booted it up, they loved the background.

:D

fairytinkerbell,
I get kind of the same way, both my DGF and I get pretty excited talking about and planning our upcoming trip. I think every one here can relate to having a few episodes of what I like to call "Excitement Burnout." Where you plan and plan and wait and wait and eventually, for lack of a better way to put it, you get fed up with waiting to start your trip, and you actually get sick of thinking about it. I think the best way to get over "Excitement Burnout" is to realize that it is a temporary condition, and that if you cool off for a few days, and not think about your trip, in a short while your excitement will creep back in.
Your trip will be here before you know it!!!
:earsboy:

Try this to get you back in the Disney mood: it's an internet music station that's FREE, where you can choose and listen to various music channels while you surf the net or read the DISboards. Do a search using the word "disney" and it will show you your choices, then add them to your "presets" and enjoy! As per the recommendation of the OP of (and respondents to) a thread regarding this website, I listen to 3 stations so far: Intercot, Sorcerer Radio:WDW, and Park Hopper Radio. Among other things, I've heard the music from Illuminations and the announcements from the monorail tonight! It really lifts my spirits, and maybe it will help you, too. I'm passing this on to you as someone passed it on to me last night on the DIS.

I remember about a month or two before our trip I was completely burned out with my job and just couldn't wait until we went on our trip. DH and I would watch WDW tapes to get ourselves psyched for our trip.

Radio Buena Vista on Live365 is a great station too.

I go thru bouts of Excitement Burnout too (great term, by the way!) I just ride with it & my family is happy when I do drop off on talking about our trip - They don't want to hear about it until it's almost time to leave. Even my son, who is a total WDW fanatic.

I keep webshots loaded with WDW pictures - I especially like to load up on pix of the upcoming resort. I listen to WDW music on Live365 & watch my Disney tapes. I also browse the web gathering info, daydreaming of what we will do & where we will eat....

Oh, I know exactly how you feel. When I get like that I try to take a day and just relax. I read a book, watch a favorite movie, take a nap. I don't do any trip planning and I try to just be by myself. I don't have kids so this is easy for me. By the end of the day I feel refreshed and energized. I can tolerate work again and I am ready to do more planning!

:sunny: thank you so much for your advice !!! i will go to the radio now (online) and try to hear the monorail announcer!! that's cool!

maybe i will go over stuff for trip tonite/weekend...

I have wishes on home video and I like to pop that in and get me in the spirit :hyper:

I was really bummed out today when we had to reschedule for our trip this weekend..but I am getting the spirit back now I know we are going a few days later.....:sunny:

If you ever want to be really bummed out, try sitting all day at work thinking about the fact that you have to cancel your big trip this year due to a hurricane, boy..can that bum you out fast....:(

I'm the same way, our trip is a little over three weeks away, and I just wish we could go already! Now I'm afraid there will be a hurricane and we won't get to go, and I know DH won't be able to change his vacation......

Off to do more board surfing and get excited again!

The fact that you are posting here is a positive sign. I predict the magic will return over the weekend. I'm going to check out those radio stations as well! What a great support group the DIS is for all us with Disneyitus!
