Help me get away with it...

We live in the Pacific NW and we are going to North Carolina for my brother's wedding - we leave on Thursday night. While my brother is on his honeymoon, we are driving down to Disney for a "surprise" vacation.

Now...after the wedding reception is over on Saturday night, we are going to change clothes, pack the car and leave so we will be driving all night - it's a 12 hour drive. The kids will sleep most of that time. DS age six, DD age seven.

They DO NOT know we are going!!! But, I'm sure they will wonder why we are still in the car when the wake up and ask all sorts of questions...where are we going, are we there yet, are we lost, etc.

How do I string them along until the big reveal when we pull up to the park entrance???? Can I keep it a secret that long? Or should I find some interesting way to tell them along the way? I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it.

How fun! What are you going to tell them when you get in the car Sat. night? Do they think you're driving home? If they ask where you are when they wake up in the car the next morning, tell them you're lost. Maybe even tell your husband you should stop for directions. When you see that wonderful sign, say "Boy are we lost, but since we're here, why don't we stay for a few days?"

When we drove down to DL and surprised the kids we just told them we were going for a drive. We drove past DL and they didn't even realize it. LOL Checked into the hotel and then they asked if we could go to DL. DBF saw a sign for "ultimate fight challenge" or something like that and he told them that we were doing that. Maybe find something on a billboard and lead them on that way?

What about having a Disney map in the car-incase they catch on earlier. You can ask them to help navigate.
