Help me find some inexpensive boys/mens boots PLEASE!! :-)

Hi all,

A family I know is in hard times so I want to help them out. Step-dad just left and shut off the power (was in his name) - mom is disabled and used her FULL check to pay rent and get the power back on. She has NOTHING for food (she thankfully has a small farm so is okay there mostly - I have a few boxes of overstock from my pantry for her). She has 2 boys still living at home - ages 11 and 12. They are BIG tall boys - wear a 10 and a 10 1/2 mens!!

The boys each need boots - I want to buy them each a new pair. Problem is I also bought them each a game for their Nintendo DS (they have 1 that they share), which just cost me $65 - they also each need pants and socks. And I want to do stocking stuffers for them (dollar store but will still be $10-15 each there!).

I don't have a lot of money, but I do want to bless this family.

Does anyone have any idea where I can get some boots that will last the winter? Doesn't matter if they break down after the winter is over - we are in Maine so they need to be warm and need to last 4 months. They boys are growing so fast that they'd probably be too small by next winter anyway!

I found some for $30 at Walmart but hate HATE HATE that store...my husband works at LL Bean but the cheapest there is $69, which I really can NOT afford.

Any ideas?

Awww - thanks for the kind words.

I did look at the boots - very nice for the price, but not quite what I would need for an 11 and 12 year old...I need more of the insulated winter boot type ones, but thank you SO much for the suggestion!

I see you're in Maine, if that's not what you had in mind do you have a TJ Maxx or marshall's near you? Or Bob's Stores? Sometimes I can find a real bargain on shoes there especially bob's if I have a coupon. Or if you aren't too far from there try Kittery Trading Post. The prices on the website aren't any better than LL Bean, but sometimes I've scored in the clearance section.

They start at size 11 but I always buy my kids boots a size bigger to allow for extra socks so this will be no problem.

i just got snow flurry boots for 19.13 with free shipping however on the website it says the prices reflect the 25% discount and the site was saying they were 22.13 when in fact they were supposto be 19.13 so i called and they adjusted it for me, but, i had to order on the phone.

If you have a Bob's store near you there was a flyer today for Coleman boots for 29.99 or 19.99.
