I am so excited but I need some help. Let me share a little background. My brother and sister and I have never been on a vacation together even as children. So for many years we have all talked about it but they each had families and money has been tight so it never happened. We talked about our dream trip would be to Disney World with all the kids. Well little did they know that Auntie(me) has been putting money aside for the last ten years and am now ready to surprise them. I have saved enough to take us all to Disney World. We are all getting together this weekend and I want to surprise them with the news but I want a special way to do it than just announcing hey we are all going to Florida. Can you give me any great ideas? I would appreciate any input. There will be 4 adults besides me, two teenagers, and two 5 year olds. Thanks.

I think scavenger hunts are always fun- they draw out the surprise and create a lot of build up. Just make a ton of clues and tell them you have a surprise for them and send them on the hunt, and then at the end have a stuffed Mickey or something holding a sign saying 'We're going to Disney World!' OH MY GOSH! Can you please take a picture of their faces? I bet they will be THRILLED!!

If you go to the "Creative and fun ways to tell family" thread, there are several ideas of how to tell your family....:D

I don't have any ideas, but WOW! How exciting! :D I would love to see the look on their faces too? Your siblings don't know that you have been saving for 10 years? What a great Aunt/Sister. :)

Let us know how you did this! I can't wait to hear what happened! What a great surprise!

I surprised my DD15 and DS5 by sending them postcards from signed by Mickey. I wrote: I am so looking forward to your visit this September. Please come to my place for dinner. And signed it: Chef Mickey.

My DD called me at work when she received the postcard. LOL She never looked at the postmark.
My DS arrived the next day with a similar message. He brought it to daycare to show the kids the postcard Mickey Mouse sent him.

I have a picture of DD and DS holding the postcards.

I would have tried the treasure hunt but I'm not that good of a hider LOL.

 Let us know how the surprise goes.

hmmmm....how about making a meal and name each dish after a WDW character. example: if breakfast, make pancakes in shape of mickey ears and they could be called exactly that, "mickey ears pancakes" or if lunch grill hotdogs and call them grilled goofy dogs, etc...use your imagination and have fun with it!

What a FANTASTIC SURPRISE!!! :bounce:

Do you have a Disney store in your area? Take everyone to the store, ask a CM to play along, and have them announce to your entire family that " you're going to Disney World"

OR

Serve a "Disney" cake for dessert...gift wrap Disney guidebooks and give to the adults. Make a paper chain for the 5 year olds to count how many days are left before you go. Add a few Disney balloons. You'd be surprised at all the last minute Disney stuff you can find to surprise them with. You can also take gift wrap bags and fill them with fat pens, autograph books, sunscreen, guidebooks, plane tickets, whatever, as a surprise.
Have fun with it, and try not to look like the cat who swallowed the canary!

I just surprised my 8 year old grandson with a Disney trip. I bought an autograph book. On each page I put a post it note with a couple words on each page. It said "I thought...you would...like this...autograph book...so that....you can...get some...autographs from...Mickey & Minnie....when you....GO TO DISNEY WITH US!!!!" The look on his face was priceless. I won a trip for two through work, and it was only a $500 buyin to take him, so I thought it would be perfect! He is so excited!
