Help me dis veterans

I just got off the phone with a CM. We were scheduled to stay at the Poly from May 7-11. I cancelled that and now we are staying at AKL. Anyway, we just could not justify $400. a night at the Poly even though we love that place. When I was on the phone with the CM I explained how desperately I needed a room only code because we already had tickets because we purchased the no expiration. She told me that the next time I am at disney I should talk to guest services and see about using my unused days to convert to an AP. Has anyone ever heard of this? If so, do you know what the rules are? Thanks a million.
