We are headed back to Disney in late October/early November. We are trying to be financially responsible as we will be back late November 2019 as well. Anyway, we are surprising my in-laws with this trip as they do not have the means to go on their own. We want them to experience seeing their grandkids at Disney!

We were spoiled by deluxe last fall, so we are leaning toward renting DVC again (we did AKL last time). Help me weigh pros/cons:

-1BR at Kidani
-2 preferred studios at SSR
-1BR at BLT
-possibly 2 rooms at a moderate depending on how squirmy the above make me price-wise

Our party- DH, DD3, DD1, and my self. Plus my in-laws (mid-fifties). We get along great & I have no concerns about sharing space with them. I am concerned about someone sleeping on pullout couches for a week.

I am in love with the idea of being able to walk to MK! I’m a bit concerned about SSR and buses/remote location. AKL was great last time.

Help me think this through! Basically I really want to do BLT but am worried the couch will be too uncomfortable lol.

I'm finding that picking the park we've the most interest/time spent in is a great way to pick a resort in terms of ease of transport.

Still, bed comfort is important but I'm clueless on the bed configurations available in several of the rooms you picked although unless you opt in to a suite the most you can fit in one standard room is 5.
I can say that after 2 nights at a Poly room, sick as a dog, I was fine sleeping on their version of a pull out couch which prolly is the same as that found at BLT.
HTH!

I’d start with finding out what’s still available as the fall has become very popular for DVC so your choices may be limited by availability, although 1 br.s tend to book last and SSR is large so it tends to have availability longer. Kidani 1 br.s have 2 bathrooms, so that’s a plus. Where you in Jambo or Kidani last time?

Just curious, and off-topic, if you timed your trips just slightly closer together, would you benefit from getting an annual pass that covered your tickets for both vacations?

I would not stay in a 1 br with my in-laws. I can't even picture how that would work.

Two rooms for sure.

Are these resorts available? My friend just tried to book end of October and it was slim pickings.

This is what we've done the last several years, our Oct 2018 trip will be covered by the APs we got last Nov. Also, at least at the Board Walk you pretty much have to book DVC rooms 11 months out due to the popularity of Food&Wine.

I think that your decision will be made by whatever is available. You've chosen a very busy time of year as far as DVC is concerned. Don't even expect to get one studio, let alone two.

Given that studios are off the table, that leaves you with the 1-BR villas, which would not be ideal but if that's your only option, I would choose BLT for its proximity to the MK if you decide to go the DVC rental route. However, it will be cramped with 5 people plus an infant in a pack n play.

As others have said, I would see what is available first and go from there. Honestly, if you aren't concerned about sharing space, any villa close to parks (BLT, CCV, BRV, BWV, BCV or even AKV) would work and they are all really lovely. If distance is of concern, I would try to keep the mods and SSR off the list. You would also all fit in one standard deluxe room (except at AKL and WL), so you might even want to consider pricing those out (CR-Garden Wing typically prices out the least of the MK resorts, BWI, YC/BC will sleep 5 in the EP area).
