Hello!! Me and my Hubby leave in TWO DAYS!!!:banana: We are going for 8nights/9days, but only have the plan for 5 nights. We got a 1 night RO reservation at the beginning because FD hadn't started yet, then had to get a 2night RO at the end because FD was completely booked for the timeframe I wanted to stay. But long story short, we have 30 DxDP credits, and 20 snack credits.
Hubby and I decided to make this trip our "Signature Dining" trip :cool1:. It's likely our last trip before we start a family:love2:, so we wanted to see how many signature meals we could fit in. We have ate before at California Grill and Le Cellier, last year, so I think we are leaving only like 2 or 3 signatures untried!
Berfore anyone starts, I KNOW signature meals are not the best value on the dining plan, but, we like to eat fancy on vacation (including ordering at least 1 app per meal and half the time a dessert even when paying OOP), and since we already get the regular DDP for free, and are only paying to upgrade to DxDP, I think we will come up ahead.

I have over-scheduled ADRs vs credits since we are doing a signature restaurant most nights (and 2 in one day:earseek:!) Trying to decide which meals need to be OOP, since if you add everything up, it's a total of 38 credits, and we only have 30. We are already thinking of paying OOP for our BOG lunch, and our two non-buffet breakfasts ADRs, but even then we are still 2 credits short. All you math wizzes, help!! If we can do something like pay for 1 person OOP, and the other on the plan (so we can get the free app and 1 dessert), let me know! Keep in mind if we do pay OOP, we will order at least 1 appetizer for the table, and be about mid-range price on entrees (we like steak and seafood!). OK, here's our lineup:

11/7: ---This day is OOP and doesn't count, since it's in the front end of the trip:
Lunch--somewhere QS in the parks
Dinner--Flying Fish

11/8--Day 1 of plan:
Breakfast--snack credit or OOP, something light
Lunch--Chefs de France
Dinner--Fulton's Crab House (this really needs to be kept on the plan, DH plans to indulge here!)

11/9--Day 2
Breakfast---Kona Café
Lunch--Cinderella's Royal Table
Dinner---Artist Point

11/10--Day 3---this is our visit to the darkside, AKA, our Universal Studios day
Breakfast and Lunch at US
Dinner--Yachtsman Steakhouse

11/11--Day 4
Breakfast--Olivias Café
Lunch--Be Our Guest (quick service)
Dinner--Ohana

11/12--Day 5
Breakfast--Snack--something light
Lunch--Using a majority of our snack credits to eat the booths at F&W
Dinner--Narcoosee's

11/13-- Day 6--last day on plan (credits expire at midnight):
Breakfast--Boma
Lunch--Yak and Yeti (TS location)
Dinner--Jiko

And to just round out our plans incase anyone was curious:

11/14 --OOP this day
Breakfast--Snack
Lunch--F&W or QS at MK
Dinner--Tyoko dining for Illuminations (this is our ADR so far, not set in stone. Still thinking it all through)

11/15--OOP and last day, ME prob leaves around 2:
Brunch at Ragland Road

****TO ALL THOSE WHO THINK THIS IS WAY TOO MUCH FOOD***, this is not my first rodeo. We were on the DxDP last year, and some days we did eat 3 TS meals, and we were fine. We stay up super late, and some nights we have dinner as late as 10pm, and we always space 5+ hours between meals, even more if it's a buffet. We are two adults who like to eat!!! I know what I'm getting into, and I am only asking for options on what to pay OOP for, since I'm short credits. Thanks!!!!

You can pay one OOP and one with credits at your a la carte places.

Agree that BoG lunch and a la carte breakfasts should all be OOP.

Then if you do Yak n Yeti and Chefs as one OOP, one credits, I think you're good.

OK, I'll play.
I was going to say: Kona, Olivia's, BOG, and Yak&Yeti OOP, all the rest DxDP, but I like sharonabe's solution too.
Looking at all those meals makes my stomach hurt, but you said you are up to the challenge.
Enjoy! and have a great trip.
(Do you ride any rides too?)

Thanks everyone!! I'll check with the DH and see what meals he was thinking of ordering at Chefs and Yak n Yeti, I like the idea of splitting the credits between them, we still get 1 app and dessert (I cant skip those wontons at Y&Y!), and we wont be stuffed at lunchtime and can keep on trucking!

We do ride rides, but not a whole whole lot. We have our 3 FP's scheduled, then we stroll all around each park and if there's something with little to no wait, we hop on. And we save coasters for right before lunch or dinner so we've had time to digest before getting on.

I've posted ADR opinion questions before, and was ambushed by people saying it's way too much food, and how they could never do more than 1 TS meal a day, etc. But we keep it smart, ask for no bread service, choose quality vs quantity on our apps (like getting a scallop app that may only have 2 or 3 sea scollops on it vs. a big plate of fried stuff) and not try and eat every bite if we are getting full. I drink water so I won't fill up on soda, and if I order dessert, its something very light. We like the TS meals for our sit down breaks because we are in the parks morning to close, and don't go back to our resort except to sleep.

I think the idea of using one credit at the a la carte places is a great one. We get the deluxe plan as well, and one appetizer per person is way too much, same with desert.

We just returned from a trip, and we were on the deluxe plan. The one comment I will make is that this was the first trip that we ever felt rushed from one meal to the next. It seemed as though transportation took longer than it had in the past, and service was very slow at some of the non buffet restaurants. We typically plan 5 hours between meals as well, and this trip it really did not seem like enough.
