Here's the deal: On our last trip, my father had a stroke, so we had to come home early. Since then ( 1 month), my daughter has had foot surgery, her other grandfather passed away, my mother now needs surgery, and I broke off a 9 year relationship. My DD (11) & I seriously need some "Disney magic", so we've planned a trip when my older sister will be in town to look after my folks (we've moved in with them to help out). I have 4 nights planned (2 @ BWI & 2@ VWL - DVC rental I had from the cut-short trip) - I want this to be special, so where should we stay our first 2 nights? I love the GF & am leaning towards there, but we've never tried AKL or CR. I don't want an Epcot resort because we'll be moving to the BWI for nts. 3 & 4. We love to resort hop, so that's not a problem. The mods are sold out for all of the discount codes for my dates (June 12-14), so deluxe it is! Help me decide where, please. Thanks!

*Thanks for everyone's input & concern! I called this morning to check for discounts @ POR & was offered AKL (savannah) for $174/nt.! I jumped all over that! It's better than the AP rate!;)

i would say the AKL it is beautiful. It has very good rates with the codes that is out and the AP rates are Great.
So Sorry to hear of all the things going on right now for you.hope things get better.no matter where you stay you will have a wonderful time.

Greetings from another Ft. Worth-ite! or is it Fort Worth-ian?

Wow - sorry to hear about all you have been through; I hope you have a rejuvinating trip.

AKL is very serene and relaxing. We were there last fall and really enjoyed it (although my allergies played up a bit there).

GF - I stayed at over 10 years ago. It was nice; we could see the MK fireworks from our room balcony. But we weren't in the main building and when it rained (poured!) we got drenched walking to the building where our room was.

my vote - if you want serenity - is AKL. When we were there, we went down to the spa about 9ish and there were 3 giraffes not 15 feet away - it was so amazing. That alone made the stay there for us (and there's a lot more wonderful things about being there . . .)

Contemporary - We have always wanted to stay there - but only in a tower room and we're not feeling that flush right now!

Good luck with your choice!
