Honestly, I don't know where the "omg its soooo big!!!" thing comes from. We visited last spring, 6 months after my mom had a heart attack and a month after I badly sprained BOTH of my ankles. We were in Casita 5. Ranchos section was a 5 min walk to the left of us and another 5 beyond that was the big pool. There was a quiet pool with laundry next to it about 5 mins to the right of us. Another 5-10 minutes to the main building (with the food service) beyond that.
The concierge noticed my limp when we first checked in and gave me a wheelchair to use, but I never used it. And we came and went frequently! I bet I walked to the main building and back at least 6 times a day.
There was a bus stop (the one that gets picked up and dropped off first) 2 minutes away. We got seats EVERY SINGLE TIME. No matter what time of day. We also didn't have huge lines or full busses coming back from the parks. Best bus service ever!
The resort is GORGEOUS!! And super relaxing! We actually spent more time there than at the parks (which is very unusual for us, we're usually commandos). The food was AWESOME. Both the CS (forget the name, try their cuban sandwich, super yum) and Pepper Market (I ate their nachos about 3 times).
Honestly, the only bad thing I can say is the main pool was smaller than I thought it would be and super crowded. But it was obviously due to spring breakers (lots of rowdy college kids, but nothing crazy).
I'd totally go back to CSR if we weren't going to the Poly next time.
