Yes. The
MNSSHP was an absolute blast! I wish we went two nights instead of just one. Check out the you tube videos.
The parade is completely different from the regular parades. First, the headless horseman rides the parade route about 10-15 minutes before start. All of the parade units are different. There are dancing ghosts and the grave diggers are not to be missed with their shovel dance routine. At the end, Goofy delivers "candy, candy, candy". The music is superb... I can hear it now... (Boo to You! And You and You and You.... Happy Halloween.....).
The fireworks and the music along with it was far superior than wishes fireworks. And I recommend getting very up close to the castle, right in front if you can. Following the fireworks was the "Villians Dance Mix and Mingle" show and all the villians came down to meet us and lines quickly formed for photos (no autographs) and then they mingled with the crowd.
Character greeting spots were wonderful, but we missed a lot of them because we watched the parade twice. You will see a lot of characters not usually in the parks.
The dance parties were fun, but maybe more for older children (and adults). Stitch's dance party was great. Teens will like the music.
And candy.... if you want to keep your dentist in business... the CMs dumped loads and loads of candy in our bags. I still have some awful tasting Stitch's super sour candy from last Oct....
Most everyone wears some kind of costume and that just adds to all the fun.
We are going to Disney for Christmas in 2010 but come Halloween, I'll really be missing the party this year. If I was rich, I'd make a special trip just for Halloween. We went to the party on a weekday night. I heard that Halloween night was very crowded at the party.
Also, in 2009, your party ticket got you into MK as early as 4pm, so if you have magic your way tickets, you could use the MYW to go to a different park earlier in the day without buying park hoppers.
