Help me decide - CR or WL?

Doing a split stay, just doing one night at CR or WL.
WL we've stayed at before and enjoyed it - CR we're curious to try.

We like that both have a beach so kids can play in the sand.
WL is gorgeous and kids like the pool slide there.
CR - kids think the water play area looks fun - the slide may be a bit scary for them, though.
WL standard would be $63 less than staying CR Garden Wing/Garden View.
Is CR worth the extra?

Also.... we like to come back from the park, and find somewhere to get a drink or two (or three:) ) and then go hang out by the pool outside. Will be July, so kids will want to swim, too. Either resort better for this? Anywhere to get a drink (say 11 at night) at CR? Is the pool open, any activity of people or is it deserted to hang outside at night (like till 12, 12:30 talking about).
Just wondered if any activity at night at CR, or pretty deserted at night - or if WL a better choice?

Also... we're going first week of July - either pool better during busy times of year to handle crowds?
Really would like to try CR, but need to figure out if worth the extra money. Wish a standard room was available, but no such luck.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of CR, with your situation I'd definitely try it over WL and WL is one of my top three fav resorts.

Since you've already tried WL and not CR, this would be the perfect opportunity and there's nothing like staying at a monorail resorts. In the grand scheme of things, it's only one night, so $63 is a drop in the bucket at Disney. If that was over a week, that would be a different story.

JMO!

I agree. I personally don't like CR, but it's just one night, so if you don't like it, it won't be that big of a deal...and I can definately tell you are curious. I say go for it, then you will know if you want to go back. GL!

I would go with the Contemporary because their rooms are bigger, Monorail access and the walkway to the Magic Kingdom. Besides that during the evening there is a lot more happening on the 4th floor concourse level, with all the stores, restaurants and their bar lounge.

Another vote for CR. :thumbsup2

We've done both, and CR is much more convenient, and more activity seems to be going on there. Both pools are nice, but CR has a "better slide"...according to my kids (not scary). The monorail alone is reason enough to choose CR. Just hanging out on the 4th floor concourse is exciting ! As another post said, the rooms are bigger (2 queens & daybed) so we've never felt overcrowded. I'd book the garden view, but keep trying for the standard....you never know.
