Help me decide: Coronado or Carribean Beach?

I need to decide today to book for free dining...pluses/minuses of both, please?
any and all info soo appreciated....on rooms, pools, locations, etc.

Your best bet is to check the unofficial threads of both resorts which have pertinent info on room locations, etc. We have stayed at Coronado nine times and love everything about it...especially the queen beds (CBR does not have them). We have not stayed at CBR, mostly because we go to the beach every year after Disney so the theme does not appeal to us.

You're going to get a whole lot of different views here but i have for mods down to these 2 not CBR.

This would be my list.. 1. CSR 2. POR 3. POFQ 4. CBR & this is why

1st off: Pool . Each resort's main pool is nice, but the POFQ is a lil bit on the kiddish side. CSR nice theming & never ever crowded at all. POR Very nice as well w/ a nice side crowd during all hours. Same w/ CBR. POR's is nice and close to the main bldg, which is very convenient too. CSR a lil far but worth the beautiful walk.

2nd: Rooms. This fairly even for all. It all depends on your taste. I believe all have updated rooms now. I was fortunate to saty in them for POR & CSR. I loved both. POFQ I didn't stay in for more than a day. CBR never stayed inside.

3rd: Food area. I think by far. CSR Pepper Market. Never a wait to be seated. no more than 15 seconds .honestly. Also they bring u the drinks for a really small tip. (not a big deal) All the others were so darn packed & it really discouraged me. I felt like I was back at the values.

4th: Transportation. CSR definetley gets the nod again. Never once did we wait to or from any park or DTD. The fact that its a convention hotel helps. But Both the POR & POFQ have a nice boat ride to DTD. Bad side is the buses there. LOng long wait, especially from HS Fantasmic show. Both buses returning to the resorts from there were a minimum 7 or 8 buses. CBR felt just about average.

5th: Grounds. All are beautiful. POR & CSR stand out IMHO. CBR is spread out and the theming to me doesnt feel like Disney. Plus main Bldg is no where near anything. Check in area. POFQ is very small. Kinda claustraphobic if you ask me.

Lets put it this way: This is Disney, No matter which you choose, they will make it a magical time on e you get there.

Also as pp stated , all have new queen size beds except for CBR. A huge advantage.

I've never stayed at the CBR, but we stayed at the CSR last September and loved it. The rooms were tastefully decorated, the food court was good, and the pool was PHENOMINAL. I think the CSR has the 2nd best pool on property, second only to Stormalong Bay.

My only thing is that if we were to stay there again I would INSIST that we were in the Cabanas section. I think that may be the water view catagory. The Cabanas are the best location in proximity to the main building and the pool. We were back in Ranchos, and while not horrible, it was quite a jaunt to the main building in the AM for coffee and a donut. In the afternoon heat lugging your bags to the room, it seemed like 2 miles, LOL. Add a beotching husband along with that, and it felt like 5. LOL

That is what pushed me away from CSR, but maybe its not a big deal?

Not a big deal at all honestly. Youll never know that they are there. Plus this helps lut the bus system being as efficient as it is. Youll never wait for bus nor will u stand. This place is awesome.

Agreed cabanas 8a is what we originally wanted bug ended up getting casitas 4. This was an ideal spot. So close to main bldg,quiet pool,spa& laundry room,& bus stop. We were blessed.

My sons are 16 and 13 and this looked more our style, although I would not rule out CBR in the future....the beach look did lure me in!
Now waiting to make sure my travel agent gets back to me to confirm that its still available from this morning!

We've stayed nine times and never had an issue with convention guests. There has been a report here and there (far and few between) of some drunk guests, but you can get this at any of the convention resorts (Contemporary, Yacht Club, etc.) or any resort for that matter.

I think with the age of your boys they will really like the pool at CSR much better. And there is a sand volleyball court that the boys will enjoy.

I have stayed at both resorts most recently the CBR in December. They are both really great resorts. Great pools, good rooms. extremely quiet, good theming. Some people complain about the size of the resort and they are both large but I enjoy that because I always get up extra early in the morning and while everyone else is sleeping, the size give me the ability to pass time as I explore the resort.

The CBR only has full size beds. I thought this would bother me because I have a queen at home but it really didnt. It may have been because I was so dead tired after a commando day.

I really don't like CSR's Pepper Market. I don't know why but the set up is just odd to me as well as the automatic gratuity. But this is really the only complaint I have.

They are both beautiful resorts and I think you will be happy with whatever selection you choose. I always go back and forth about which resort but am always happy with my final destination. It is Disney!
