I would like to plan some kind of special surprise to be waiting in the room when my husband and I return from the parks one day. We will be going to Disney World for our 10 year anniversery at the end of May and I am hoping to right a wrong that occurred at our original wedding. We were married in Jamaica and had a chocolate wedding cake. The problems is: I HATE CHOCOLATE! It makes me gag! You should see our wedding pictures with me trying to swallow the cake my new husband was trying to feed me! It was horrible. I would like to surprise him with a little wedding cake in our room, so that we can do that moment right. I don't know who to call or how to pull this off. Have any of you ever had anything special waiting in the room at a DVC resort? I know you can do things like this at other WDW resort hotels, but was not sure if this applies to DVC. If so, who do you call? We will be staying at SSR. Thanks so much for any help! :love2:

call the resort and ask.

Yep, Disney is really quite good at helping you arrange special things like this.

sorry - I should have changed my post - just call the phone number I gave you.

if you do instead call SSR ask for the bakery department and see where they send you....

Last June I arranged for the WDW Florist to have a surprise waiting in our room (VWL). It was one of those WDW 2004 bags packed with drinks, chips, fruit, cheese & crackers, etc. My son still thinks we "just got lucky." I think I've read that the BCV has some kind of special deliveries available through their room service. By the way, sometimes I wish I didn't love chocolate! Good Luck!

Can't wait to hear about this! I am sure you will be able to get this done!!

when I set up a special treat to be delivered for my daughter - we all left the room, then i did an "oops - forgot something!" called the store - and they snuck it in while we were gone.

it was great!

(thanks Jim at OKW.)

Even though SSR doesn't have a bakery you should be able to get the cake delivered. It may however be more than you want to spend. We were married :bride: at WDW and had our reception at Epcot. We had the bottom layer of our cake sent back to our villa and I believe the delivery charge was somewhere between $75 - $125. Of course we had no intention of taking the cake back to Texas, but it did make for an awesome snack a few days later. :mickeybar
