In light of the newest 5-day hopper deal....

We don't get into Anaheim until around 6 p.m. Monday April 13 (from the New England) and we had planned Thursday as a down day for beach or whatever. Originally planned T, W, F in the parks.

Is it worth the extra $90 for a late night run to DLR Monday night and either an early or late night run on Thursday night?

Traveling with DH, DD10, DD4, DS2.

You don't have to convince me it is - but you have to help me convince DH it is!

Going through the same dilemma here. We originally planned a Yosemite/Monterey Vacation. Now they throw this into the mix. We were desperately thinking one day at DL would be nice. It would be fun to see Yosemite and Monterey and then see it again on Soarin' over California at DCA. Now they throw this into the mix. This might be my only chance to stay somewhere nice and get two free nights or do I save even more money at the good neighbor resorts. Do I book the 5 day or even go at all. It is so difficult.

You've got to include some beach time for the family. 5 days is probably too many. I think you can do 5 nights but still only do the three day pass. We stayed four last year and the fourth day was us wondering around on a busy day just soaking it all up. It was nice but we could have saved the money in retrospect.

You are coming from New England with a toddler and preschooler, with the time change, do you think they would be up for a late night trip to Disneyland? 9pm at Disneyland would be midnight for them, wouldn't it?

My kids could never do that but I have good friends whose kids are natural night owls and they would be fine with such late hours.

***We are in the midst of reconfiguring our plans to include more Disneyland time now that we will have tickets for 2 additional days. We planned a beach day on a Sunday but I just decided we will have breakfast at Carnation Cafe before heading to the beach. And hey, if the kids want to do a few rides before breakfast (or after) they won't have to twist my arm....;) I also figured we could hit the park after the beach too!

When we were at DLR last March (08) we had the 5 days for the price of 3 tickets and we were with friends and extended family - so while DH had plenty of vacation time our friends did not. We only ended up using 4 of the 5 days because of time constraints, but felt the time was well worth it.

We included a beach day. We went to the beach in the morning/early afternoon and then went to DLR. It was a pain. I would reconsider the beach time and go to DLR in the morning and then do the beach in the afternoon. The beach will be warmer and your kids might want to wade and splash. Then you don't have to go get all cleaned up to go to DLR after you are done at the beach (which takes a lot of time with little kids), you can just go back to the hotel and enjoy some down time and have another early day the next day.

The 5 day park hopper is the same price as the 3 day park hopper. We were going to go for 3 days/4 nights in late May. But now we added an extra night and got 2 extra days on our park hopper! (And you can buy the tickets w/out the package, btw.)

As was stated the 5 day is the same price as a 3 day hopper. Just adhere to your plans and if you have time on the fourth day then do something like fireworks. Go to the beach, come back to the hotel and nap then dinner in the parks and fireworks or come in at 2 hours before closing and take advantage of the dwindling lines.

Well, for the whole time thing. Our family has Premium APs and we go pretty often. If we had it our way we would go for 5 days EVERY trip but we don't. Usually it's for 4 tops. Good luck convincing him, some of the PPs had good questions, with the time change how will your kids do? And only you know if giving up beach time is OK to do. :)
