I have eaten at both LeCellier and Coral Reef. Both were good but not great. I really want to have a meal at Epcot before Illuminations on our next trip. Can you recommend one? It will be myself, dh, dd10, and dd6. Thanks!

Garden Grill if you want characters.
Marrakesh in Morocco if you want something a little different.
Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki in Japan if you want a unique experience.

I second Garden Grill for a character experience.
Nine Dragons is great for Chinese. Rose and Crown is good and you can eat outside by the lake. I read someone else's post that they were able to get a late reservation and sit there for Illuminations. I've never verified that though.

Teppanyaki was an unexpected good find last trip. We all loved it. We especially were surprised that we all liked (even the kiddies) the seaweed salad and the ginger ice cream. MMMMMMM

Marrakesh used to be my favorite TS until last trip -- bad service & bad food.

So even if we are doing Liberty Tree Tavern, you would still do GG? I thought about this, but thought it may be duplicate characters. The Japan one sounds good.

We are eating at Nine Dragons for our Epcot night..We love chinese food and I hope this is good.

Ok well I also love Alfredos of Rome. A lot of fun and if you go there at the right time you will have an accordion player play at your table.

I think that Alfredos will be closed when I go in April 2008. I guess I should have clarified when we were going. I have a bad habit of assuming that people can read my mind. I do love italian food though. Will the new Epcot Rest be there then?

Rose and Crown! We had ressies at 7:30pm and were seated right by the water. The view for Illuminations was great and the meal was a favorite!

Yes I believe it will(you might want to make an ADR at 180 days)...I also like San Angel.

We have enjoyed Nine Dragons each time we have dined there. Took younger DD out for Chinese today at lunch, she said, hey Mom, in two weeks we'll be eating GOOD Chinese at Nine Dragons! The Honey Sesame Chicken is a favorite with my crew, while I enjoy the spiciness of the Kung Pao Chicken. I have made the sesame chicken at home from the Disney cookbook, it tastes the same but the atmosphere cannot be duplicated! :rotfl:

Our family loves Rose and Crown, extra nice if you get an outside patio table and watch Illuminations. If you don't get the outside table, that's OK too they have an area outside where you can slip out and watch then return for your desert.

Look at the Menus and see what sounds good to you and your family.

Chefs de France - we thought the food was as good as Le Cellier used to be before food and service went down hill.

Rose and Crown is also very nice.

We have not eaten at Marrakesh, Mexico or Japan, so I can't compare those. Of the rest, those would be my first two choices.

I would recommend Bistro de Paris in France. It is more fine dining than Les Chefs and much, much better food and service overall. It and the Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck's are our fav WDW restaurants.

Last trip in March, we had a wonderful meal at Bistro de Paris. Also we had a great lunch at Rose and Crown and were seated outside, it was beautiful day and we had a great time. I love Teppanyaki, but will it be refurbished by the time you go? I do take out at Morocco all the time, food is good, and they have adequate seating for those who do their take out restaurant.

Thanks so much for all of your input! I am narrowing it down to Rose and Crown, Teppanyaki, or maybe Morroco. Thanks again! Keep the opinions coming.

You could take the boat or walk (10 minutes) to the Boardwalk & have a great meal at the Flying Fish Cafe (really enjoyed dinner here a couple of years ago) or if you are steak people, you could try YS at the Yacht Club or Shula's at the Dolphin. If you had a 6pm ADR, you'd have plenty of time to make your way back for Illuminations. Another idea would be to reserve an Illuminations Cruise (front row seats for Illuminations) - they provide some light snacks, but you could have them provide heavier fare for an added cost.

Thanks! I didn't even think of going to the Epcot resorts. That is a great idea too! The Yachtsman sounds yummy!

If I had a choice between Shula's and Yachtsman, I would take Shula's.....I think it is far superior.. Also, I love Spoodles, a bit like a rustic Mediterranean bustling kitchen, with good food. I just love the decor and the castmembers are incredible there.

Cheeseburgers and shakes, Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club Resort, Cape May, an all you can eat Seafood All American Buffet is good as well. If you want a quiet time at the Yacht Club, their Galley restaurant serves dinner and I have always enjoyed the food there..

I did an Illumination cruise in December and it was a blast.....you would have to call and try to reserve that for when you are there and it can get costly....but it is a once in a lifetime kind of thing.. We enjoyed it so.
