looking for some help from you lovely people! Because of a flight change we have an extra two nights to our trip (yeahy!!!)

We’re from the UK and have kids who will be 5,3 and 1. Were staying at Wildreness and Yacht earlier in our trip. Options for the last two nights are:

Yacht - and try and get them to extend so we don’t switch rooms
Floridian
Contemporary
Animal kingdom wit a Saana view
Boardwalk
Boulder creek at wilderness

Good swimming areas (ideally zero entry) and good quick service or sit down locations are important to us. We like theming but boardwalk and Floridian haven’t appealed to much as we have quite a bit of that era styling over here. Access to the park in monorail is a plus but not critical as well have a car. I’m tempted to try contemporary...

My first thought would be - extending time at Yacht so you don’t resort hop to 3 different places.

My second thought: Your littles might like the monorail coming through their resort - that would be the contemporary. Good pools too. They can walk to MK too. You can see the fireworks from there too. Great food.

My third: AK - how could you not like that view for a few days!

My family loves the Floridian, but I can see what you say about being from the UK and how that wouldn’t be special for the kids. Good food. My kids love the pool. They have an Alice in Wonderland splash pad.

I dont’ Think I help you , but maybe gave you some food for thought.

Cheers!

This would be my recommendation if you end up not extending your stay at Yacht. For our kids, being so close to MK was really amazing to them. We've stayed all over and love many of the resorts, but our home base DVC is Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary, and if the kids had their way, we would never stay anywhere else.

How long is your trip? If it's 5 nights or less, I would try to extend at YC. If it's longer, I would consider AKL as you will then get to sample resorts in every park area in WDW. WL gives you quick access to MK, YC gives you quick access to DHS/EP and AKL is so close to AK. I would also plan my park touring according to where you are staying in that case. If you will be spending the majority of your time in MK, I suppose go to CR. If you don't like the theming of BWI and GF, I would take them off the list.

Stay at the Yacht and go visit the other resorts. We do that all the time, have lunch or dinner or just an ice cream. We actually are fans of switching resorts unlike others, but you are already switching and just for two days by the time you pack and get into your resort which may not be right away you lose the day. Just stay at the Yacht and definitely go visit AK, and take the monorail around and visit Contemporary and Floridian. Also suggest visiting the Poly while you do that. You easily go over to the Boardwalk while at YC it's right there and go over to visit Boulder Creek while at Wilderness.

If you can't extend at Yacht, I would do AK; your kids will love it!

For only 2 nights I would definitely stay at Yacht if possible. Second choice would be contemporary because I think it’s so cool to walk to magic kingdom.

For a first choice I would choose extending your yacht club stay. It would be a lot less hassle than moving. If that’s not possible I would go with the contemporary for its proximity to mk. Your little ones would probably love the monorail going through the hotel, Chef mickey’s is right there, and you can walk to mk

We love the Contemporary, in my opinion nothing beats walking to MK.

But I’m wondering why the Poly isn’t on your list of potentials? It’s a monorail resort with a huge amount of theming, zero-depth entry pool, and some of the best resort restaurants at WDW. I feel like it would tick a lot of boxes for you.

Our kids are the exact same age when we travel! Sadly we can't afford Deluxe, currently booked into All Stars but hoping to upgrade to a moderate if free dining is announced for 2020! Stayed in a lot of Deluxes pre-kids though and I would definitely say Animal Kingdom or Contemporary from your list. AKL with a Savannah view would be amazing for the kids, the pool there is lovely and zero entry, and I just love the theming in general. As other posters have said, Contemporary is such a great location for MK, but for me the pool at Contemporary isn't as fun for kids, (but that's just my opinion). As previous poster has said, I would also consider the Poly , I just love the theming and the pool, and also the dining options there are great.
If I'm honest though Yacht and Beach are one of my favourites, so many dining options on the Boardwalk, you can walk to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and the pool there is one of the best at WDW, so having 3 little ones like you, I would probably opt to stay there (as long as they would let me keep the same room), save packing and unpacking again when I could be relaxing/at the parks.
Have a wonderful time whatever you decide!

I agree with this and would add, remember the monorail and epcot resorts have either the monorail or ability to walk to a park(s). That's really nice with a stroller. Folding them up on and off a bus gets old, but I'd prioritize not switching rooms if you don't have to. I hate packing on vacation though.
