Ok, took me forever to make my choice but I have decided to just suck it up and take the camera...lol
I know I would feel lost without it and hate the pics I would come home with if I did not take it with me.![]()
So I have many cf cards ready to go so i can come home with my 3-4000 pics to go through.![]()
Now, my goal is to find a smaller bag that will hold the 40d and lens without having to carry my huge bag or bulky backpack. Hmm.....
Thank you so much for all the thoughts and help in making my choice!![]()
Good choice. Our 2nd trip to WDW I took my little PnS Canon and my film SLR. Took about 700 pics with the PnS and 4 rolls with the SLR. The PnS took good pics, but I was so much happier with the results from the film SLR. 2 months later I bought a dSLR and have since made 2 more trips to the World with it and the results are far above what I got with my PnS (granted its 5+ years old).
I've traveled around the world with an SLR (Caribbean, cruises, USA, Canada, Europe & Asia) and don't regret one moment.
As for a bag, I currently have a Tamrac Adventure 9. It is huge, but it holds all my equipment in once place. I'm going to get myself the Tamrac Velocity 7x which is smaller, but it nice for a day pack. Its a Sling Pack which I'm real comfortable with, but when I tried this one out at a local photo shop I was able to get it to fit nicely and it seemed easy to get into the pouch. It will hold the body w/lens and 1 or 2 other small/medium lenses or 1 lens and flash unit. This is what I need now. They do have smaller versions and bigger versions. I'm a big guy so this particular model fit me well. If you can get to a local camera shop to try different ones out, do it. There are a lot of companies that make a lot of different models and varying prices.
