Hi....we're headed to HRH for 5 nights starting on Easter weekend next year. Before I bought my plane tickets, I went ahead and booked a HRH Deluxe Room at a rate of $319. (I didn't want to have buy the airline tix for a busy week without having on-site ressies.) I'm really hoping that I'll be able to get some kind of discount on that room though! Our kids are DS, 10; DD, 6; DS 4. A bunch of questions:
1) I chose the HRH Deluxe over a Std room at the other resort they offered because they indicated the HRH Deluxe had 500+ sq ft instead of 330 sq ft. They said it has 2 Queens and a sleeper sofa. We are really spoiled because we usually stay in a 2BR at Disney, so having all of us in a single room is unusual, and I figured we'd need the extra space. Another reason I picked this room is because it had a sofa bed; others would require us to get a rollaway, and I think that might be less convenient (plus I saw some reference to a $25/day charge for the rollaway.) Did I do the right thing or are the Std rooms fine?
2) I requested a refrigerator at $15/day. My recollection is the space available for extra storage in the minibar is minimal, and we like to eat breakfast in the room and also have drinks/snacks available. Anybody have experiences pro/con with this?
3) What are the best approaches for getting a good rate? I saw the Entertainment rate info; problem is that this ressie is for next April. Will they offer me that rate now when the new books aren't out yet? Do you think that rate would be available Easter Week, or do they block that week? (The 4th night free offer wasn't available.....not sure if it was because it's too far in advance or because of the holiday.)
4) I saw the Universal website offer for tix -- 5 days for the price of 2! Is that likely to go on for a while, or should I buy our tickets now to get a good price?
Any other suggestions regarding resorts, tickets, etc.? We have been to HRH one other time for just a two night stay--it was just intended to be a quick stop before Disney because two of the kids were really young then. This time, the Universal trip is the focus.....the kids are really excited about it since they're all more adventurous now and able to ride more rides. Only concern is that they won't want to go back to Disney after the experience IOA rides and FOTL perks!
Thanks in advance for your advice/suggestions!
