HELP! Looking for opinions and input

Like many here, our family has been to Disney several times, but our trip next week we decided to add a two night stay at Hard Rock Hotel. We are only getting a two day ticket (not park to park) and intend on going to one park on our arrival day (will be there around noon) then spending the second day in the other park. SOOOO... my question is... which park should we go to on our "short" day and which should we save for the full day???? I really have no idea where to start! In case it matters, we're looking forward to checking out the Harry Potter lands but we're not really "into" Harry Potter. Thanks

My family - we are Universal people. We appreciate Islands and always enjoy our time there, but we would pick UO for the long day. I am also guessing I will be in the minority. On the short day, I would go to Islands and go left and hit Spidey, Hulk, Doom. I would then circle back past the entrance into Seussland, head over to HP world, then to Jurassic. I would finish with the other water rides, and head back to Hard Rock wet and hit the pool. We find there is so much more for us (opinion) at Universal - we will ride Minions twice, Rip Ride Rocket, Shrek, Mummy, Transformers (over and over and over...), Gringotts, Disaster, MIB, Simpsons, ET, and most importantly, we love the shows. With Express passes, we ride Transformers and Mummy until Blues Brothers starts (looooove them), and we alway try to hit Fear Factor (with about 50 other people, I am lame), and love Animal Actors. That, and things just seem to pop up more at Universal - Mystery Machine, Dora and Spongebob, etc.

Don't discount HP just because your family is not into it. It is no different than loving rides like Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, etc. and other rides without a well know IP. If you aren't familiar with the IP, it doesn't change how fabulous it can be.

Yep, you really don`t need to be into Potter to see what an amazing job they have done with it. I know plenty of people who were less than interested in anything Potter and were totally blown away by it all.

By not getting Park to Park you won`t be able to ride the Hogwarts Express.......but I would spend the short day in IOA and longer day in the Studios if I had to choose.
