We are planning a trip this Dec. from the 2-10. :cool1: Where is a good place to stay that is close to Disney property(if not on it) because we'll have to come back to the room for DD to take a nap. It'll be myself,DH,DS7,DS4 and DD6mo. We can only spend around $100 per night. There are so many hotels that I don't know where to start and then how to get the best price is yet another story. Anybody willing to help a confuse mother of 3? :confused3

you can try cypress pointe but only if you have a rental car - or you drove to Orlando....

don't stay offsite without a car. You will miss too much.

you can generally get CYpress pointe here
www.hotelkingdom.com

try for at least a 2-bedroom - the 3-bedrooms are probably too expensive for you.

The Radison Resort Parkway was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at offsite. It is conveniently located about 5 minutes from the entrance to Disney. The rate I had in late August a couple years ago was like $75-80 a night. I would definately stay here again.

If you will be splitting up to handle naps for the youngest, and you won't have two cars, you probably want to stay onsite for the transportation convenience. For your dates and party size/ages, you could stay in a Disney Value room for less than $90 per night including tax---if you are a AAA member, you would pay only a bit over $70 per night including tax. And, there's a good chance that Disney will offer other discounts on those rooms as the dates draw near which could be even better than the AAA price. You will be hard-pressed to find an acceptable off-site hotel room that is substantially less than $70, so if price is your only object, I'd just go that route. Even if some offsite places are close in price, the quality and other benefits of a Disney-owned hotel are probably worth the few extra dollars you might be paying.

Cypress Pointe will run you a bit over $90 for the 2BR condo unit. It's much more spacious, so if the thought of sharing a single hotel room with three kids is too much to bear, and you don't mind handling all of your own transprotation, that's probably the other best way.

You should look into the Windsor Hills Condos at windsorhillsrent.com. You'll get a lot of quotes (some over $100 but some under) and many owners supply cribs, high chairs and strollers.

we were looking at Windsor Hills palms, but we didn't know anything about them. Have you stayed there? Do you know if they are a decent place to stay? I know they are a little farther away, is it still a pretty short drive? Sorry for asking so many questions :)

We stayed at the condos at Windsor Hills in January (the one with the pool slide). Windsor Palms is a different resort altogether. I hear both are very nice, but I can only personally vouch that Windsor Hills is. I thought it was a great deal for a family - so great, that we're going back in Feb. 2007. We found a 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo for $80 per night (not including the 13% tax) with a fully applianced kitchen.

Like most rental units, you'll have to sign a rental agreement, put down an initial deposit and possibly pay a security deposit - which all varies by home owner. There is no daily housekeeping, but they do have brooms, mops, vacuums, a dishwasher and laundry facilities inside the individual condos. You'll also have to supply your own dish/laundry/dishwasher detergent, soaps, shampoos and toilet paper. There are two full grocery stores within a mile and a half of the complex, and there's also a small store near the pool that carries essentials.

It's also close to the parks - being about 1.5 miles away from Animal Kingdom using Sherbeth Road. The other parks are farther away, but all are within 15 minutes.

Good luck and have fun on your vacation!!

Go for the values, since your youngest is an infant they do not count on the # of people in the room, so technically you will only have 4 in the room. Go to the Dis main page as suggested earlier and see what the travel agencies can do for you. Or call Disney

If you are a government employee or military you can get a discount at Marriott hotels. We are staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott Nov 27 - Dec 3 for $83 a night because of the discount.

Well, we check with mousesaver, dreamsunlimited, priceline, hotelkingdom and a couple of others and the best deal we found is at windsor hills. $79 for a 2bedroom, all of the suites or anything with a seperate bedroom anywhere closer was well over $100. My DH is pretty set on WH although I wish we were going to be a little bit closer due to having to go back for DD6mos nap. I like the kids playground and waterslide so that'll be cool  and hey, the money saved on rent is more money for souveniers :thumbsup2 Thanks for your recommendations. I'm glad that it sounds like WH is going to be a nice place.

our first trip to disney we stayed at theHotel Royal Plaza hotel near dtd for 59 a night It is a great hotel Kids eat free in the resturaunt. and added plus to these hotels ( there are 7and I know that at least three are always under $100 Grosvener, royal plaza and Best Western) is that the have really good transportation to and from the parks.
buses run regularly every 20 min or so which is comparable to disney resort busses.

We have also stayed at the Grosvener and it just sucks! dirty and small rooms. The Hotel Royal Plaza was nice though big rooms and a fridge.

I wish we were going to be a little bit closer due to having to go back for DD6mos nap.
Don't worry---windsor hills' location is great. Driving back and forth between Windsor Hills and the parks is likely to be faster than taking busses between an onsite hotel and the parks, with the single exception of the Magic Kingdom, because you'll have to use a monorail or ferry, and Disney drops their guests at the gate.

We stayed in a WH townhouse last winter, and we were 12 minutes to the MK parking lot, and closer to everything else. You'll be able to get back and forth in no time at all.

We loved WH so much that we're renting there again this winter.

This past May we ended our trip with 1 night at ASMusic. This was me, DH, DS (11), DD (8), and DS (8mths). It did work, but we did not put up the pack and play. With that up it would have been a little cramped. Needless to say that when we end our cruise in March we will be staying at a value for 3 nights. So I am sure that we will be cramped, but with the cruise we really can't stay anywhere else. Also, we are DVC members, but don;t want to use a lot of points for a Fri/Sat night stays. Goos luck and I am sure that you will have fun. My little man was so laid back on the trip that we never wnet back to the room to nap. He would just nap in the stroller or during one of the shows.

That's good to know. :sunny: Eventhough DD6mos is my 3rd child, I've kinda forgot at what age they do things at. I was just going to plan on a worst case senario.

We had planned out trip around us going back to the room for him to nap. I guess I am glad that we didn't need to go back to the room, but we did have to change our plans on how we handled the days. I do understand forgeting what ages they do certain things. There is 8 years difference in what was my youngest and now the youngest. It is almost like we started over and are learning all over again on how to do things.

We are there the week before you and the all stars are priced $79 per night.

My daughter was 10 months old last year there and she slept in her stroller. If it was feeding time before her afternoon nap I'd go to a baby center located in each WDW park and get her fed there and all cleaned up and settled and she'd crash.

Not once did I have to take her back to the room to nap.

You're lucky. Neither of my kids napped in their stroller very successfully.
