We fly to Orlando tonight (Friday) !

But we dont get there until tomorrow morning at 9:45am. I figure from the time we land, with travel from MCO to our hotel (AoA) it might be 2/hours so estimated noon arrival at the hotel. I did online check in alread but i dont know what the odds are of our room being ready (Finding Nemo Family Suite) since we'll be there before check in time.
I planned it so that we wouldn't do the parks tomorrow at all. I usually want the first day not to be rushed; hitting the ground running. The last time we were at WDW waa 2012 and they werr still building AoA so thia is our first stay. I thought we could waste an hour or so touring the resort etc. Then i have a rez at Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs at 4pm. (It was the only dinner time left) This year I FINALLY took a leap and got tickets to La Nouba. We've never been but i always have wanted to check it out.

I did all my research and got tickets for the right seats that people suggested for the 6 o'clock show.

I did that 3 weeks ago. I even paid the extra 15 bucks to get my tickets express mailed to me to make sure i had them before I left.
The reason i had them mailed express was because i knew with the 4pm dinner at Rainforest, we'd already be crunched for time to finish eating and get over to CDS. I had reas that if you are ten mins late to your rez at La Nouba, they will sometimes give your seats away so I didn't want to have to waste time standing in the box office ticket line. I couldn't print them because i dont have a printer.

But I STILL haven't got our tickets yet!
Grr!
I called twice already and they said it was mailed a week ago . I live in Texas-not on the moon, and they do have the address right.

The best they told me was I could get my tickets at the BO and ask them to refund the 15 bucks I paid for express mail.

Thats not going to solve my problem though. Now we have to either cancel our dinner rez, or shove food in so fast and not be able to relax and enjoy the resturaunt, then rush over to La Nouba which I heard is quite a distance from the rainforest, and stand in the BO line and run the risk of having our seats given away.Which makes me mad because i specifically planned the first day to be a NON rush day.

Our first night, first time at Rainforest, first time at La Nouba, with my sons friend who will be at wdw for the first time...and it can be ruined because someone didn't mail our tickets on time.

I wouldn't be so upset if I had slacked but I did everything right that I can see...

Is there any advice or hope anyone can offer me?

Is the print at home option still available? If so, go to your local library and print them out there. I don't have a printer either so I've done that before. Good luck!!!

Edited to add: This is assuming your library has computers. Just sign into your email there and print it out on their printer.

Can't you just go over to Disney Springs an hour or so earlier than you had planned and get the tickets before dinner?

I suggest the same - especially if your room probably isn't going to be ready when you get there. Leave your carry-on bags with bell services and hop on the DS bus early.

Just curious, how are you leaving from any Texas airport tonight and not getting in until tomorrow morning? There are no traditional red eyes between the two states, as they are too close in proximity.

If you are still able to print them off the computer I would find someone that had a printer. Maybe even guest services at AOL could print them? Or if printing the tickets is not available you can print the receipt maybe to make sure you have proof you paid for them. The show is awesome ! You will love it !

I think 1 print them off at your local library or 2 get your tickets before dinner drop your things off at bell service go over to disney springs and if you have time between getting your ticket and dinner take a slow walk over to dinner and shop or look in shops and hope you do not spend all your money the first hour or two you are at disney.

or maybe you will get some pix dust and get them with your mail today

I agree with just heading over to DS early and picking them up if they don't arrive today. You are still cutting it close even with tickets in hand, they may have changed but I haven't had good experience with the service at Rainforest, as a matter of fact it got so bad despite the fact that my son loved it, even he suggested we not go any more. I might even cancel the Rainforest ressie and just eat at a QS somewhere at DS, then you have plenty of time to wander around and not feel rushed.

This doesn't help you now, but if you really want to eat at RFC, the smart thing would have been to join the Landry's Select Club. It gives you prioity seating without an ADR.

If I were you, though, I would cancel the ADR and eat at Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express. You'll get much better food in less time.

Not true. I live in Texas, and one of the flights we looked at was overnight. The layover was in Phoenix (Gotta love layovers that take you in the OPPOSITE direction of your destination!)
Texas is a big state. Its not THAT close to Florida. We're flying because it would take 23 hours to drive to Orlando. For comparison, I can drive to San Diego in 10.

Go over to Disney Springs early. When you get off the bus at the marketplace head to the dock and take a water taxi over to the west side. It's a fun ride. Get the tickets, then take the water taxi or walk back to RFC. Have fun! The whole family can enjoy the water taxi.

Yeh I guess I'm going to have to do that but that's why Im upset about this whole thing because it ruins my one "relax and take it easy" day .
I specifically planned to have our first day just taking it slow.
In past trips we get to WDW late at night and only have time to shower and sleep a few hours then up in the morning early for RD - and its high speed from then until the last night when of course they want to be out as late as possible, then up early in the morning to get to the airport.

We never have time to enjoy the hotel or even see a show like La Nouba. As you all know, WDW hotels are a mini adventure by themselves ...whats the point of staying at one if you're never there other than to sleep?

So this time- and especially since this will be our first time at AoA, I wanted to take advantage of the fact we're getting there earlier instead of at 10 at night like usual, and let the kids have time to explore the hotel, play the arcade, maybe a quick dip in the pool...
But now we don't even get to do that because now I have to drop our stuff and get over to DS early so I can go stand in the BO line to pick op ticket that should have been delivered a week ago.

There goes my dream of being able to have a "chill" day before the next 7 days of running around. Grrrr!!
And on top of that, this flight will be longer than usual because its a next-day flight so we'll have been traveling for 10 hours and I'll actually need the breather.

Sp yes, I can go to DS earlier as soon as we unload at the hotel but having to take off running and do anything "as soon as we get there" was exactly what I so meticulously was trying to avoid.

:guilty: Not a very "Magical" start :guilty:

So you fly to Phoenix tonight, then take early morning flight tomorrow morning to Orlando?
El Paso >Phoenix>Chicago> Orlando

Its a longer flight with more layovers so yes, we leave tonight at like 9:30 and get to Orlando tomorrow morning at 10.
At first I planned to leave this morning (we usual leave the last day before Spring Break or summer break starts for the kids) but I'm bring my sons friend with us because he's never been to WDW and his mom was adamant he not miss school today.
SO when I checked Saturday flights the price difference between flying on a weekday and a Saturday was CRAZY- like 400- 500 bucks. And I'm the one paying for everything so I said hell no, and looked for a Friday evening flight as a compromise ; her son wont miss school, and I still get Friday prices. This was the only evening flight that was left and they only had 3 of those left so I had to take it.

There are printers here at my job but there are no option to print or even show your tickets on the site- only "buy tickets". The option to print them only showed when I purchased them- it gave 3 options: Print, Mail, or Pick up at Box Office.

If I was at work I would have printed them. But I wasn't so I had them express mailed- which was like 3 1/2 weeks ago and should have been plenty of time- dont know why they JUST sent them out this week- especially since its supposed to be "express"...

But yeh, I went back on my Disney experience and it show La Nouba in my itinerary but other than that the link to La Nouba just give the "buy tickets" option.

I do have my receipt which was emailed to me the day I bough the tickets and i DID print that out today. But Since I still have to go to the box office to show the receipt and get my tickets it doesn't change anything.
Unless they accept my printed receipt as "tickets" at the door, which I doubt.

This is a bummer. But what can ya do? I just hope it works out better than it looks like it will.

Plus I ate too many enchiladas at lunch today so I cant have anything else go wrong.:rolleyes2

Yeah Mapquest says 23 hours for me too if we drove.- by comparison, Anaheim is a 12 hour drive ...we must not live that far from each other lol.

And, yes, the first layover is in Phoenix...opposite direction haha

Thanks for the tip- I heard the two places were kind of far from each other and I haven't been to WDW since 2012 so I'm not familiar with the layout. Ill try the water taxi.

For future reference, "print at home" option does not mean you have to print the tickets right then. Usually you can't anyway - they are emailed as a PDF once payment has gone through. You can opt for "print at home" and print them whenever you want after you get that email.

Just be sure you know where you put them because only the first printing will scan legit - if you print again it will show as counterfeit,.

You have a few options here. You can try getting to Rainforest early and see if they will seat you then. Please keep in mind that even with a 4pm reservation you might not get seated right away. You can cancel and sign up for a Landry's Select membership card (small fee but you get points back) and you can walk up to Rainforest and get priority seating with no reservation. You can cancel and then see what places have walk up availability. You can have a snack before the show and have dinner afterwards. Change your reservation to a late lunch. I just checked and they have availability for a family of 4 at 2:30, 3 and 3:30. La Nouba is awesome so don't miss it.
