Ok, so a friend of mine just decided to buy roundtrip flights for WDW for July 5-9:scared1:. She said the flights were really cheap and she just wanted to get away with her son. She just went through a horrible divorce and wants to get away. Welll she hasn't found a place to stay or anything yet, just got flights. I was looking online and the hotels on property seem a little expensive. Does anyone know of any "specials" or anything that I might be missing. I know it is a long shot but thought I should try. They don't have tickets either. She is a judge so I don't know if that would help with any type of discount. Thanks for ideas.:worship:

Most deals from Disney happen a few months or more out before the dates and then close up. I don't think anything wil lbe going on for that week that would come out now.
Disney is one of those places that jsut doesn't do last minute deals for the most part.
If off site, look on expedial or something like that to find a place.

See if you could get her someone to rent from on the DVC rent/transfer board - OKW in a studio is only 11 points a night, so at $10 per point, would only cost her $110 per night. Just a thought - a member could check availability before she rents from them to be sure she could get a studio at any DVC resort.

they often have good deals on last minute hotels. and they also offer Disney resorts. And try the Swan/Dolphin. We will be at the dolphin that week and we are paying $169.00/ nite for our cash nights. Not a super deal, but not bad either.

Check out this page for some deals
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resort.htm

I just searched her days at the Dolphin and there is availability... since she would qualify for the government employee rate the total for the 4 days would be $580... great rate for a super hotel in a terrific location! :cheer2:

Check the others and you might find a real deal! :thumbsup2

Very good advice. With that they could use ME for pickup at the airport and Disney transportation for everything else and not have to have a car. Now, I normally won't go without a car, but she's not going to be there very long, and it will just be the two of them, so they should do fine! :goodvibes

a really good website to check is mousesavers.com. they have lists of current specials. off site hotels offer some really good deals. i know if you have aaa you can get some kind of discount on the room. i think its about 15-20% for value/moderate hotels. they might be able to even help you with an offsite hotel too if you want to stay at one.
