Hi Everyone,

We leave on Wednesday  for WDW and part of our group just informed us that they will not be able to join us - They were scheduled to join us at WDW on Friday, April 20th for five days. All of my dinner ADR’s from the 20th forward are for 5 people, but now it will only be 3 (me, DH & DD 2 yo). I had a hard time getting the reservations changed from 3ppl to 5 ppl when the other couple decided to meet us at WDW, now I am terrified this change may cost me my coveted ADR’s at California Grill, Kona Café, O’hana and Crystal Palace! :sad1:

If I call to change our resies back to 3ppl am I in danger of loosing the reservation if the restaurants do not have a 3 top available for us? Should we just go to the ADR’s as planned? If so, will the restaurant make us wait forever for a 3 top? Will they seat us without issue?

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what my best plan of action should be? Thanks SO much!

it's totally understandable if someone (or 2) doesn't show for an ADR. they could have gotten sick for all anyone knows. i don't think your ADRs are in jeopardy and I personally wouldn't consider calling dining to adjust it, even if it can be considered a courtesy to others (going from 5 to 3 might mean a table size adjustment at many locations). if the opposite were true and you were going from 3 to 5, however, then i'd advocate calling and changing what you could.

Hmm . . . personally I would change them to 3. I would think you would be ok with most. Many tables seat 4, so with it changed to 3, I would think you would be ok, especially since you are not adding on. Can't hurt to call and change one or 2, but ask them first. Have a great trip!

I have the same issue. I reserved for 4 and it doesn't look like our nephew (10) will be going along with us. What kid doesn't want to go to WDW?! For FREE?!

I would not change them.

You will more than likely have to start your ADRs from scratch again...and at this late date...probably not get any of the times you wanted.

And who knows??? Those other people may change their minds AGAIN & end up going with you.

Do NOT change them. Any time I've ever changed the number of guests on an ADR, I've always been told that I needed to make a new reservation and to just cancel the existing reservation. I would just go in and when you check in just tell them that all of your group wasn't able to make it. I'm sure they will seat you.

I had to go down last summer from 8 to 5...called Dining had no luck getting tables...CM on phone advised I leave my existing reservations and show up at the podium with 5. Did this for every ADR and the hostesses never batted an eye. We were seated quickly and courteously.:thumbsup2

I'm sure people get sick and don't feel up to eating pretty often at WDW, so its not that uncommon.

We've done it where I called and they reduced the number of people (did not need new ADR's) and we've done it where we went to the podium and said 2 couldn't make it. No problems for us.

Thanks everyone for your input! I feel much better about just going up to the hostess and telling them two couldn't make it. I will sleep better tonght - thank you!

I just had this EXACT situation happen to me. Originally we were a party of 5, and now there are only 3 of us going next week. I called to change my ressies, and was told I would have to make new reservations. I was not about to do that, knowing I would never get the ressies I want. So I'm just going to leave everything as is, and hope I don't have any problems when we show up for dining! :woohoo:

I would leave the ressies just as they are. We've had this situation in the past and we've never even been questioned when 4 out of 6 showed up. Things happen and I think the CMs understand that. Now if I had to ADD people to the ressie, then I'd be on the horn! But I think you will be just fine. :thumbsup2
