Marathon Weekend 2026

These are better than I expected. Definitely not in the less is more category but I really like the marathon medal.

Of course my favourite is the 5K which I'm not running this year. Maybe I'm just partial to Pluto but I find the 5k is often my favourite of the weekend.

Challenge medals are different from the pins!

Honestly think they did a very solid job with these and I don't have strong feelings about the theme. Nice to have consistency with the open book thing. I'm also not sure there are any fancy features to them? Can't see any obvious springs or sliders or lights.
Definitely happy about no obvious special features.

I'll be that guy..... I don't like them. For my taste they are too cartoonish, too cute. Is the HM now a Valentine's Day virtual?

Great for any other rD weekend, but I wish Marathon Weekend could have stayed old school, understated, perhaps even elegant? But that ship sailed a couple of years ago.

And stay off the lawn!!

But the set seems cohesive which is nice.
This right here. I love that the shapes are all similar. They look so much nicer on display when they're the same shape. I am curious about the sizes relative to one another. My set from 2019 all increase in diameter as you go from 5K to Dopey. Wonder if these do also? Looking forward to earning these!

My only note is that I wish they'd included all the distances on the Dopey one.

I like them. I’m a little worried that all the characters are casting shadows and thereby seem extended out from the medal itself. To me, this suggests some sort of unnecessary movement element. I always like a group of medals that are cohesive and this may be the best they’ve done with that in a long time. If the quality is there, a big if, I think they’ve done well for themselves.

ETA: The medal I’ll be getting, the Marathon, is my favorite of the designs which is probably shading my thoughts a bit. I might be a little less enthused if the Half was going to be my main race:confused3.

The positive is that they're better than we were expecting after seeing the pins. I also like that they all look cohesive and part of a set.

Really not a fan of the half medal, but the other ones aren't bad. Still would've preferred less paint and something simple, but I knew we weren't getting that anyways.

Not my style overall but I have almost no objections. I don't care for this Marathon medal but I've already gone on at length about my preference for classic Mickey medals. And agreed they do all go together well. EXCEPT the half medal...

Er, what is up with this half medal? Heart shaped, Pink, big box of candy, and a kiss? They leaned in big time on this as a romance run. Emphasis on romance, no emphasis on run - can barely see the WDW and Half Marathon text.

The race/venue itself again takes a back seat to the (unnecessary IMO) theme overlay. I would love to go back to the days where there was no theme overlay on Marathon weekend.

The 5k and 10k are cute! Pluto and Chip/Dale always deliver cuteness.

They seem pretty good to me. We will know more when we see them in person, but I’ve personally never been handed a Disney medal and immediately thought, “this sucks!” These will most likely be more interesting than the medals I get from other marathons I run.

Hard agree. On all of it. We are clearly no longer the target audience lol! Petition for a Sick of It All rD series for Racers of a Certain Age?! :rotfl:

Exactly! I think the medals always have more meaning after a race, anyway.
