Help! Just read Le Cellier won't let my 11 yr old order from kids menu

Our very picky 16 year old has eatten off Disney kid's menus for years without any problem. They don't care...:)

Like the PP said about Tutto- we had a similar situation at San Angel Inn. They made my then 12 yr old get an "adult" portion of the kid's quesadilla. It didn't look much bigger, and it cost $18:scared1: I find that the WS restaurants are definitely not as accomodating as others because they are prvately run. Oh and we went to Le Cellier last November on the DP. They let my son get a kid's meal with an adult credit, but they wouldn't give him the entire kid's meal, saying that the kid's meal includes an appetizer- so they only gave him the entree and not the carrot sticks- all for an adult credit!! :confused3

We were at WDW last week. I found restaurants to be very accommodating. We were on the DDP. Kona allowed my DS12 to order an appetizer as his entree on the DDP. Our waitress at Ohana offered kids meals to those in our party who did not want to eat the regular menu. I was already planning on asking for my DD but the waitress offered before I even had a chance.

It might actually depend on what server you get - where one says yes, another might say no.

Most but not all of them are. Le Cellier is owned and operated by Disney.

We had no problems at LeCellier in May. My DD10 didn't even see anything she liked on the kids menu! (Blasphemy, I know!) She ended up ordering a side order of macaroni and cheese from the adult menu as her entree. The server told her it had bacon in it, was that ok? She likes bacon so ordered it with no problem. (We were paying OOP, no dining plan) It was her favorite meal on the whole trip and DH loved the mac and cheese as well! Bonus for us: the side order only cost $5 or $6--less than a kids meal and tons less than an adult one.

Enjoy your trip!

My 16 yr old son ordered the mushroom filet without the mushrooms and french fries instead of risotto. It was perfect in his eyes.

:confused3 That is not right at all. They should have given him the entire kid's meal including the carrots sticks. Sorry to hear that happened. You are paying enough money and they shouldn't be that stingy.

That's strange - my dd (12) ordered off the kids menu at both LeCellier and Tutto Italia last summer without any problems. The only restaurants we usually pay adult prices for her are buffets.

Both my teenage sons did the exact same thing as did my 10 year old. :lmao: They thought it was perfect too!

This does not exactly answer your question but when we ate in Mexico at Epcot last month I knew my 6yo dd would not like anything on the menu. I went to Counter service in Epcot and bought her some al cart items and got them to go. My daughter ate them at the restrant. They did not care and my DS and DH were able to get their Mexican fix. We used 2 TS for that meal. (I was too full from Cape May breakfast to eat). They did not care at all. I know this would not work at buffet type places but it did work for that TS place.

I went to WDW when I was 17 and 18 and never had any problem ordering off of the kids meal. Probably the only 18yrold who orderd the hot dog and fries at the Brown Derby :lmao:
My daughter is now 22 almost 23 and she has just stopped ordering off the kids menu, but in May when we were there she tried to order the chicken nuggets off the kids menu at T-Rex and we were told she would have to order two kids meals. Now if we added that up I think the price was more than an adult meal. We were ready to leave, just then our waitress came back and said the manager said it was OK. Really sometimes restaurants just give too much food and it becomes so wasteful.
