I think I got a bogus copy of the Jungle Book on Ebay. Does anyone have a copy of the Limited Issue Jungle Book DVD? If so, could you open it and tell me if it says "Limited Issue" on the top of the actual disk? Also, is Baloo on the left? I'm pretty sure that's what the original looks like, which is not what I got!!

I so appreciate your help! I know my Disboards friends would know better than anyone!!!

Bump...Does anyone have this DVD? Pretty please?

Sorry I don't but wanted to bump this up again so that if somebody does have they may be able to answer you!

Good luck!!

I have it. On the Disk it says "Limited Issue" ( right above Walt Disney's, The Jungle Book) And yes, Baloo is on the left side and Mowgli is on the right side( on the disk). Also the back ground color on the Disk is green. I sure hope you did not get a bogus copy of the Jungle Book, that would be really mean if they sent you a bad one. Is there anyone you can call or email about this? I hope my info. helps you.

When was it released??

I didn't know it was ever released on DVD. Does anyone know when it will come out again?

Thanks!

Thank you Zen1!!!!! You confirmed my suspicions. I emailed the seller and hopefully I will get a refund. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Yzma and Kronk, I think it was released in 1999.

Your Welcome lulu71! I will keep my fingers crossed for you, that they do give you a refund. They really should, because that is just not right at all. Good luck!

Well, hang on a minute. I bought my Jungle Book DVD on eBay and mine is slightly different. Mine says "Limited Issue" above the title but Baloo is holding Mowgli's hand and is standing on the right. King Louie is behind Mowgli. The same pic is on the actual disc. We have played this DVD many times without any trouble. Perhaps it is a DVD from overseas. To make sure you can play it, look for a small square with a globe and the number "1". This means it is made for DVD players in the US and Canada.

Check that out before you ask for a refund, the DVD may be just fine! HTH :D

It's possible you got a disc from a run of 'Factory Seconds'. They may have stamped 100,000 of them, found out something was wrong, and they were destroyed.

Or so they think.

I just hope the seller has a good reason...

I think you are right and that it is an overseas version. It has "All" inside the box where there should be a "1" referring to the region it's coded for.

However, Disney Enterprises, Inc. has a FAQ on ebay and here is what they say about imported DVDs:

"Q. What about legitimate Disney videos, VCDs or DVDs released outside the United States?

A. You cannot sell videos, VCDs or DVDs that were released for sale in other markets. These are called “parallel imports,” and it is a violation of federal law to import or sell product in the United States that was released for sale in other markets."

I'll have to think about this. I can get a real US version for the same price I paid for this one, with a chapter insert, which this one is missing. You can also see words under the ink on the disk. If I paid less, I wouldn't care but it's a matter of principle.
