Help! I've got addonitis!

You've picked a great crowd to ask this question! Gee, I wonder what we'll say in response? ;)

I think it's time to add on!

This from someone who has added on 2 times at VWL and 2 times total at AKV. :)

I knew I came to the right place.
Thanks! You guys have given me the courage that I need.

So -- you think a 100 point add on for each resort would be good? I could get 100 points for Sis at BCV, then get 100 points at VwL for Christmas, and my nephews would love the animals at AKV. The SSR points would be a great value for using for trades and cruises much less DTD trips, and we can't forget the huge villas at OKW. I've always wanted to go to Disneyland and Hawaii too. I need to get 100 points for my Thanksgiving trips to Hilton Head. My other sister would love Vero, I just know it.:cloud9::cloud9:

Would you guys help me use my 1100 points??

I'm so excited. This is a great plan!!

Let me call Dh and see what he thinks!!!!

I just called DH.

At first....he just did this :lmao::lmao::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao:

So then, I got...:confused::confused3:scared1::sad2:

Hmmm...so then he told me about the price and MF's.

:mad: :headache::eek::sad2:

Oh well...we are still getting 50 BLT points.

Pathetic as it may sound, I think I've got a case of pre-DVC status addonitis (what language is that anyway, Latin ??). I'm still waiting to hear on ROFR of our 1st contract (this would break our DVC cherry so to speak and get us into the "cool kids" club), but I'm already thinking that 50 pts at AKV or BLT at those prices might be a nice addition to the 160 pt SSR contract we made an offer on. Then, I think that the incentives get better at 101 points so maybe we'll do that :rotfl2:

SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE THIS STOP

So without further ado, and along the lines of "You Might be a Redneck" please see the following :

You might be a DVC-neck if :

1) You've contemplated adding on more points before your current add-on/contract is finalized.
2) You convince yourself that if another 50 points are great, than 100 points must be INCREDIBLE - won't even continue with the progressions.
3) You've already made your own point chart of what a Poly or GF DVC would look like.
4) You spend more money on MFs than alcohol in a 12 month period.
5) You know that each night in a studio at OKW during Magic Season "really" costs you $57.23568372.
6) You look at certain items around your house and value them in how many points you could buy if you sold them (eg - if I sell my TV I could add on another 8 points).
7) You think it's insane that anyone would own contracts at all of the WDW parks, then realize that you're only 1 or 2 away from that yourself.
8) You have difficulty deciding "which" of your home resorts you're going to book at 11 months.

Feel free to add on to the list as I'm sure there are tons that I haven't thought of.

Happy Friday afternoon,

Chris

Seriously folks, thank you for giving me the courage to go ahead and get that add-on that we want.

I still want 100 points, but 50 will be great. I'm waiting for a bonus to arrive, and then we will get the 50 points.

Who knows? We may get even more points in the future.

I am a bit envious of you folks that have taken the plunge and are living the lifestyle.

We've always been big fans of The Contemporary Resort. With the new incentives, we are looking at purchasing 50 points, and we can afford it.

It just seems like 150 points is a bit extravagent.

...

What do you guys think? Should we jump??

You said you can afford it, so as long as you will be able to use them up then DO IT! popcorn:: DW & I are in the processing of adding 50 points @ VGC to our 160 @ BLT right now. We haven't even stayed in a DVC resort yet (although using DPs @ the Grand Cal. Hotel was nice and my parents liked getting some nights in a SSR studio on the cheap from me!). I guess that, along with knowing I'm saving $38 and change on my 6 night BLT LV studio I have booked for Nov. vs. rack rate in a preferred location room at All Star Sports and similar stats would make me a "DVC-neck", right logan115? I'm already a Geek and proud of it, so we'll just add to my moniker...

Back on topic, by a lot of people's standards 150 isn't much. BUT, do what is right for you. I think getting into BLT now while you have every possible use year is the best deal in the long run.

Many happy "Welcome Homes" whatever you decide! :wizard:

Congratulations on your add-on. I hope to take that plunge myself soon. I own 350 points at VWL but it seems like I'm always borrowing.

Just waiting to see what my education expenses will be next year.

1 college grad - May 2009

1 in college

1 HS grad - May 2009 - undecided about college. I keep pushing because until I know DVC add on has to wait.popcorn::

I just added on 160 at GCV so I'm now up to 480. I haven't added on since BWV in 2000 because I've been patiently waiting for DVC @ DL all these years. I don't think I could work with 150 but I go several times each year and almost always stay in studios.

Don't ask me! We have 150pts at BWV. We just added on 250pts at BLT. And I'm now itching to buy some points at VGC! I won't scratch until next year at least!

We're a family of 5, but like to take our exended family on trips and stay in Grand Villas. So we still don't have enough points, IMO!

We bought 165 points in September and immediately added on 150 points in October. I keep telling myself that we don't need any more points.

Then I booked us a third vacation for this year, because with our DVC, the annual passes we bought, and the TiW we bought because we bought the APs, suddenly WDW is a bargain!

I haven't been to DL in 13 years, but I keep thinking some VGC points would be great in case we want to head to the other coast. I have never stayed at the CR because I really don't like the theming, but I keep thinking BLT looks great because it is the first DVC resort on the monorail. What the heck is wrong with me?

I have a temporary cure for the disease - we're trying to adopt this year, and the costs are very high. (Do you know how many points we could buy for the price of one adoption? :lmao: ) Hey, at least my priorities aren't TOO out of whack... But give us a couple of years to build back up our savings, and I have a sick feeling that I know where some of those savings will end up!

It sounds like with the adoption, you will have many reasons to go to WDW in the future. Good Luck!

OK, know what? You all need to ZIP IT. All this talk of add-ons has me catching myself thinking "oh yea... margaritas by the pool"

Help a fellow addict out will ya...?

Where else can I look besides timeshare store to look for contract for sale?

TIA..
