Help! Is the food and Hollywood & Vine really that bad?

Our family loved it. After reading the negative reviews I was scared but it was good. We had the dinner w/ the Fantasmic. The restaurant was clean and the waiter was nice. The food was fresh and very good. I would go again.

I've noticed it's really a hit or miss w/ some people but it was our favorite restaurant. We had the fantasmic package & our food was the best we had all trip. Everything was hot, incredibly yummy, great service (our server was always checking on us & was bringing us drinks while our glasses were half full). I personally loved this more then Crystal Palace & every other restaurant we went to all trip. We weren't fond of MGM as a whole but we're going back there just so we can do the fantasmic package again w/ H & V.:thumbsup2

i can say that we was a party of 7 and of all have enjoyed very much the food very very good food, and the place is nice too, go and you will see:banana:

Its decent. No thrills. With all the other options at WDW it eventually got pushed off the list because it couldn't compare. :worried:

DH and I both agreed it was the worst meal of the week when we went. We thought the buffet at CP was much better. When we go again, if we decide we want a Fantasmic package we'll pick a different place or just go without the package.

I always give a bad place another try and I did for H&V. Sadly, it was just as bad the second time. Service & food were both lacking. H&V is one of my favorite breakfast buffets...but the dinner was awful. We also left hungry. There are so many other buffets that are great.

Put it this way. If you're one of those people who like bland hum drum food and if you beieve that "all you can eat" makes food good, then you'll love it.

If you require any originality or flavor, you'll agree with most that it's terrible.

But yes, the wait staff was nice and character interaction is great for very young kids, especially if you catch it when we did and there are few people in there.

Much better choices out there, imFo.

We went for dinner last time and were very disapointed. We still want the fantasmic package so we are going to try Mama Melrose

We ate dinner there. It was just OK. I doubt we'll ever eat there again.

I went there for their Character breakfast in 06 for my nieces first birthday and we had a ball. I havent eaten their for lunch or dinner but I must say I do remember being quite stuffed when I left. And I am a very picky eater so that says alot.

And since there were so many of us we each left with a banana which was saved later for snaks but not too later since it was hot. I refilled my boys sippy cups and we were on out way to the next venture.

I hope its still the same I am planning my sons 5th bday right now for feb of 09.

We were there in 2006. I didn't think it was any better or any worse than others.

and you'll find people will say the same thing about MM. Its a matter of preference and expectations. The server at MM can have a bigger impact since its not a buffet.

Try MM for yourself just as OP should try H&V to form her own opinion.

We have tried supper twice. None of us liked it with the exception of a pasta dish that is served. I wasn't thrilled with the atmosphere either.

I say try it you never know. :)
