Help in picking range of dates for FD Bounce Back

We are going to be at Pop in Oct and are going to try to secure the FD bounce back offer for Christmas period 2020. My issue is that we aren't 100% sure of the exact dates bc of sports schedules and air prices. Am I right in thinking that I should try to book BB for the longest stretch of dates I might go and then take some dates off the front or back end if needed?

Asking bc last year we got a room only BB offer but needed to change dates and it was difficult after the fact--we ended up having 2 contiguous reservations until the 2019 FD came out and we could consolidate. Just trying to avoid that happening again.

They have changed how that works - they will only change the dates if there’s is another reservation with those dates available

Yes, in most cases. You can sometimes get lucky & guest services will allow you to drop days. But you definitely can’t just drop days like you used to be able to do.

Lots of people have the same situation: waiting for school or flight schedules. They drop individual days here & there leaving “orphan” nights which are hard to book later. So Disney stopped allowing you to drop those days.

You can modify your Bounceback. Like any other promo, the new dates and resorts have to be available, as if you were booking it as a new reservation. If it's available, they can add or drop days. If it's not available, they may offer you other resorts or room categories that are available. You may want to take a look at the Bounceback FAQ in my signature.
