Hi there,
We are down to two excursions in Cozumel:
1.
Fury Catamaran Sail Snorkel and Beach Party

2.
Cozumel Ruins, Chocolate and Beach Break

Has anyone done either or both who could compare them? We have 4 adults (one grandma) and 4 kids (15,14,11,10). Kids aren't super excited about the snorkeling, but are excited about the beach. We are hitting Stingray City at GC the next day on a boat, so was thinking that the Chocolate one would mix it up a bit. That said, I haven't heard much about it.....

TIA
Beth

I can report back on chocolate/ruins/beach later this month. We'll be there exactly three weeks from today!

Wondering the same thing. We are doing Stingray City and snorkeling in Grand Cayman. Trying to mix it up in Cozumel and would like to see some ruins and have some beach time, too. Last time we were in Cozumel we did Chankanaab and the dolphins.

I booked the same excursion yesterday and was wondering if it was good. We have three boys 17, 14, 13. Seems like the chocolate tours are pretty popular so I am hoping it's the best of a little bit of everything. We sail on December 16 so I need to decide soon if I want to change.

Would love to hear some reviews.

Have not done the chocolate tour.

We really enjoyed the Fury Catamaran. The ride itself was great fun. We snorkeled for about 45 minutes, and the boat was very easy to get off and on as the stairs go down into the water. You did not have to snorkel the whole time, and could get back on the boat early. The Fury beach area was great. Lots of chairs, loungers and hammocks, many with shade. Great inflatables for the kids (some adults too!), plus kayaks and paddle boards included. They could also arrange parasailing or jet-skis for a fee. All non-alcoholic beverages like water and soft drinks were included before the snorkeling. After the snorkeling there was also beer and margaritas. There was a grill at the Fury beach, but I am not sure of the prices, as we did not eat there. Perhaps $10 for a burger and chips. The crew was very friendly and there was singing and dancing on the way back to the ship.

WOW that sounds fun too.......Did you go to Grand Cayman and if so, what did you do there?

I heard the mosquitos were bad on the ruin and chocolate tour. Anyone else hear that?

I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT if you would!!!!
We're back and ready to report :) I have to work on my photos, the sizes are too large to post here apparently. But here goes. Loved the ruins, chocolate, beach break tour, highly recommend. My boys are 5 and 10. We met in the Walt Disney theatre at 10:45. It's about a 10 min walk off the ship, through the pier area and across the street to the bus area. Our guide Patricio gave some introductions and it was about a 15 min ride to San gervasio. We spent about an hour's, no mosquito that I noticed. Patricio was very knowledgeable and interesting, I wished we had more than an hour. Boys were getting hungry and so i broke out the fruit loops from the breakfast buffet. It was sunny and warm and we were happy to get back to the a/c bus where the driver had a cooler full of cold drinks. From there we took about another 30 min drive around the east and south of the island while Patricio gave more narration. The Mayan cacao place is in the same property with plAya MIA. we walked through their garden to a little pavilion where Adrian described the ancient mayan pre-sugar recipe, which you could then sample. Then you could add honey, sugar, Cinnamon and vanilla to make it more recognizable. Boys loved this part. Then you could shop in the store, or head down the sidewalk into plAya MIA. We got drink tickets that could be redeemed for alcohol or water or soft drinks. plAya MIA had a nice pool, splash area, and water slide in addition to the beach. There were changing rooms and lockers. We met back at the bus at 430, it was a slow drive back on the two lane road and other ships passengers all doing the same. I noted 5:43pm getting thru security back on the ship and we went right into dinner with our beach bags. It was a long day, but really fun and a great way to experience the island.

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know!!!! It sounds like it was a full and fun day. We are currently booked for it for our February cruise, but it was an earlier meeting time. (8:30?)
That was smart to bring snacks. These people of mine are ALWAYS hungry so I will definitely remember to pack snacks. Can you buy food at the beach? & do you remember if they took CC or cash?
Thanks!

Yes there was a buffet and snack bar type restaurant at playa Mia. We didn't get anything but I'm pretty sure they took both cash and ccards. There was also a small booth in San gervasio that had drinks and ice cream bars.
