I've graduated from my 20 year old scale w/a dial on the bottom, to a new digital scale I got Saturday. It's not the one that measures BMI and everything, but it goes in increments of .2 pounds. It's so addicting weighing myself!!

I go to the bathroom---I'm down 1/2 a pound. I eat lunch, I'm up 2 pounds. I wake up, I'm one weight. I go to sleep---I'm another weight. Which weight is most reliable??

That's funny! I have one too and I weigh every day (and night! lol!)

I always go by my weight in the morning. Out bed, before I shower.

Enjoy your new scale!

I love my digital scale, too, even if it's not as accurate as yours. Maybe I need a new one? :rotfl:

The most important thing is to measure yourself at the same time every day/week. For an accurate body weight, your "true" weight, weigh yourself first thing in the morning, before eating & after first urination. (Stacie's suggestion of before showering is the polite way of saying it!!! :rotfl2: )

Well I'm glad to hear that---weighing myself in the morning is when I weigh the lowest! :thumbsup2

Honestly, it was the cheapest digital scale that Walmart had. Sunbeam is the brand I think. No more than $20. Love it!!

I have the same scale! I've tapered off on the weighing all the time. I hated to see it go up at all! Even though I knew it was food or water or whatever. But I do the same thing others have said. In the morning after using the bathroom and without clothes. Why weigh clothes??? Can't get any truer than that!

Whatever you pick, make it consistent as best you can. The idea is to see things in the right direction and understand that we have those ups/downs from time to time. If you are making wise choices, this measurement should be an indication of those choices. If you stall or go upward consistantly that is the indicator that we need to make additional changes.

Have fun with the new toy.
