Help...I'm a little confused!

If my UY is September and I am planning a trip for next October, do I have to bank this year's points when I make the reservation this November?

Also, can I then also borrow points for this same trip from my UY 2007 since this trip will be in 2006?

I know I'm probably making this much more confusing than it really is and any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

Your 2005 use year points are good from September 1, 2005-August 31, 2006. They would need to be banked if you desired to use them during the 2006 use year which would go from September 1, 2006-August 31, 2007. For reservations during that same time frame, your 2007 points could also be borrowed to be used. So, in sum, you have understood correctly.

You don't have to bank points but you can if you like. If you want to use the September 2006 points for your October 2006 trip, you just call this November 2005 and make the reservation. If you don't plan to use the points you'll be getting in September 2005, you can bank them and use them for this trip. You can also borrow from your September 2007 allotment.

Just remember that use year has nothing to do with when you can book, and only your banking deadlines determine when points need to be banked to keep from losing them.
