Help!! I want a new camera, but which one?

I am looking to upgrade my camera and need some advice from you! So many of you take beautiful pics that are posted here on the boards so i thought I would get your opinions...

I would like to get a new point and shoot digital camera with megazoom capabilities, but I don't think I'm ready for a dSLR. Any recommendations? I would also like one with a rechargable lithium ion battery.

Big zooms for DSLR are $$$$ anyways. *cries*.

What about a Canon G10? It gets fantastic reviews. I want one. Of course, I want everything I see in PCPhoto Magazine, so take that for what it's worth.
