HELP! I thought I had it - NOT! (Don't read if sharing discussion turns you off)

Here is my itinerary. 5 Nights, 10 Adult TS credits, 5 Child TS credits.

12/2: Wolfgang Puck Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/3: CRT Lunch (4 Adult TS, 2 Child TS)
12/3: Tony's Town Sq. Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/4: H&V Character Lunch (2 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/5: Chefs De france Lunch (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/5: Teppanyaki Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/6: Raglan Road Dinner (1 Adult TS shared, 1 Child TS)

I see two problems. 1 you listed 11 Adult TS in addition to the 8 Child TSs you already know about.

You are going for 5 nights (6 days) so you plan would expire on 12/5 not 12/6.

Am I reading this wrong?

Yeah, I'm not worried about Le Cellier and Coral Reef. They'll be the first time I call for on my 180 day prior date.

The Dining Plan will cost me exactly $20 more than I originally figured, so instead of $142 savings, it's a $122 savings. That's assuming that none of the menu items go up in price between now and then. :)

Good eyes! I didn't notice that when I read the original post... That will defiantly complicate matters further for the OP. :confused3

Some dates are listed twice for 2 TS meals that day. So that's why it looks like a longer trip, but the OP is actually fine with the dates.

OP - Very very interesting point that I would have never caught! I think that the saving of receipts is your best bet at this point.

I was just discussing this with my wife on our afternoon walk.

I am laughing so hard... not at you Bicker, just at the fact that my husband refuses to discuss anything Disney food related anymore! I'm not even allowed to mention changing a ADR.

My wife is getting there -- she's already warned me off discussing any of this with her cousin, our guest next year.

Okay here it is. I do not want to use a child credit for an adult meal. However I want to maximize my enjoyment and personal values in using the Adult TS credits that I get...PROBLEM...see below.

Here is my itinerary. 5 Nights, 10 Adult TS credits, 5 Child TS credits.

12/2: Wolfgang Puck Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/3: CRT Lunch (4 Adult TS, 2 Child TS)
12/3: Tony's Town Sq. Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/4: H&V Character Lunch (2 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/5: Chefs De france Lunch (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/5: Teppanyaki Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)
12/6: Raglan Road Dinner (1 Adult TS shared, 1 Child TS)

The obvious problem with the above, or almost any combination of sharing adult meals, is that when I get to 12/5, ALL the Child TS is used up. However, how do you explain to the CS/CM that I've already used up my Child TS - there is no way they can know that from what I've read so far (and believe me, I've READ and it makes me dizzy to be writing what I am writing). Unless we are able to tell the waiter that we are sharing 1 adult TS and paying OOP for the child, I am concluding that there is NO way to share adult meals with another adult if you have a child on the plan as well. PLEASE someone correct me or help me see if I am missing anything. I HAVE A BS IN ACCOUNTING, AN MBA IN FINANCE, AND A JD AND RIGHT NOW I AM FEELING VERY CONFUSED!! :confused3 :confused3

And to those asking why am I worried about it -- My wife and I eat very little and I've grown up taught to either eat everything on your plate or dont order it at all -- I know we could just order one plate and say "please charge us 2 credits" but that does not feel good either.

I got harassed to no end in another thread for sharing my experience with the DDP. You actually have a great plan. On your last day, when you are out of child TS credits, they will just charge the difference to your room or you can pay OOP at the table. We did this once or twice when we added a speciality drink or extra appetizer. I do agree though, that you and your spouse probably will not enjoy sharing most every meal. But, there will be PLENTY of food! Disney feeds you like a king and queen on this plan. You will definitely be able to share CS meals. The portions are huge and you aren't going to be too hungry after keeping hydrated drinking water all day. That is what kept us full and not snacking heavily. We used most credits for snack drinks--frozen lemonades are the best but managed to have 9 left over on our last night. We bought snacks and drinks for the ride home. As for the CS meals, the day we left, we had 9 left. DH and I got adult breakfast meals and our DK's got a kid breakfast. When we left at lunchtime, we went back and got 2 sandwiches and 2 flatbreads for the ride home. On a few occasions, I used a CS for a danish and soda. We just couldn't use them all for not being hungry during the day. As some others have said, you can pay it forward with your leftover credits, but as an attorney, I don't recommend it due to all the personal information on your Key to the Kingdom. That is all a matter of personal preference, but most people can't afford to give away that much money! Anyway, you will be amazed at how simple the DDP really is. Ask your CM at the front desk of your hotel for a daily DDP printout to help you keep up with things. Have fun and enjoy your magical vacation!

Here is another possible solution, drop a few of those ADR's and don't share, but don't order everything. The way you have it planned now I bet you will end up with unused CS credits. You are also going to be spending an awful lot of time on eating, too.

You can not think of the DDP in issolation, it is part of a package. If you spend an extra 2 hours a day on TS meals to get more value out of the DP, you are at the same time getting less value out of you park tickets.

Another way to look at it, if it IS all about the food and trying all those places is this, forget about the C/A distinction. You have 15 TS credits.

12/2: Wolfgang Puck Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS) Used 2
12/3: CRT Lunch (4 Adult TS, 2 Child TS) Used 8
12/3: Tony's Town Sq. Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS)Used 10
12/4: H&V Character Lunch (2 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS) Used 13
12/5: Chefs De france Lunch (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS) Used 15
12/5: Teppanyaki Dinner (1 Adult TS - shared, 1 Child TS) Pay OOP
12/6: Raglan Road Dinner (1 Adult TS shared, 1 Child TS) Pay OOP

By this method you will be useing 9 credits on adult meals and 6 on childs. Not too bad, and you don't need to worry about anything. There is a pretty good chance that you will end up missing a planned ADR, so haveing an extra few is a good idea.

Yet another option. Use credits as above except pay OOP for your child at H&V. Then you have one last credit to use at Teppanyaki. I highly doubt there would be any issues doing that.

I would OOP for the CRT and then you could all ahve one more meal that yu don't have to share.
