My 12 yr old daughter has her 6th grade dance coming up. The theme is the 50's so I want to make her a poodle skirt. I'm not great at sewing but can do a simple stitch. I hope there is someone at there that can tell me how to make this skirt. Thank you so much!!

) - you might have to buy sheeting or something like that. Draw a big circle on it with tailor's chalk - turn it into a compass by fixin it on one end of a piece of string which will give you the right length waist-hem, Cut it out. Draw a smaller circle (where it will sit on the waist) bigger than your DD needs to get into. Fold over a "hem" of about 1 1/2 inches and fix it down, leaving a gap. thread elastic through. Hem the bottom. See if you can find a picture of a poodle to print onto transfer paper and iron it on, if you're not good at appique. Or cut one out of felt and sew it on.
Nothing like waiting for the last minute.
