I have a four year old & a 6 month old, and have not had a vacation since last december ( a 3-day Disney cruise!!) We were hoping to join my mother & sisters on their 4 day cruise in november, but DH has a business trip that week!! (the nerve!!)

He has pretty much been told that vacation is out of the question until his current project at work is completed..that is ok...we are just ecstatic that he still has a job (volatile job market)....ANYWAY...that doesn't change the fact that I NEED a vacation!!

Once he is given the ok to go, I think I may just pack the car & get to the airport & take WHATEVER I can get!!LOL But I have been doing a "little" research on "other" cruise lines ( I LOVE Disney...but money is currently a HUGE issue). For HALF the price of a Disney cruise I could get a verandah on Royal Carribean Voyager ( I think)....My question is....does another cruise line even come close??? I know it has been asked a million times & the BIGGEST thing that I KNOW I will miss are the shows....what else am I NOT thinking of ?? I have been dreaming of a cruise almost every night for months now!! I think it is a sign!!

All of those about to set sail ENJOY!!! Can't wait to be joining you all again!! Thank you all for any advice/info.

We are booked on the new Navigator [RCCL] for 2004. After cruising Disney 3 times, and never cruising another line -- I am hoping to not be dissappointed.

After researching RCCL Mega ships -- I am really excited though! We received a fabulous price for 2004 -- HUGE verandah for the price of DCL inside -- so yes, some RCCL ships may be less expensive -- I just hope we don't miss the 'Magic' of DCL. I'd be happy to forward to you the info I have on RCCL Navigator series ships - email me if you'd like any info.
:D

I priced Voyager also and could have gotten a suite cheaper than what I am paying for a cat 4 with Disney. However RCCL does not offer a Flounders type setting They have in room babysitting but only if the child is 1.Not sure if that is a problem for you.I am not sure we will use Flounders but I like to have the option.

Our friends are going on their 5th RCCL cruise and always enjoy it The kids club is wonderful and sounds comparable to DCL.Their 6 year old told my daughter all about it and now she wants to do that cruise. We have done 2 DCL cruises.
DH and I have done 1 cruise on RCCL( pre children) and loved it. The food was bettr than DCL but I love the DCL family atmosphere
