Wow! This is crazy! DH would have to peel me off the ceiling if something like this happened to me.
If this happened to me, I would just show up like I was never informed of the change and flip out! They are much more inclined to give you things in person than over the phone.
The worst thing that happens is you end up with the same thing you have now anyway so it might be worth a shot.![]()
I'd love to see someone do this. And really flip out! I'm normally a pretty non-confrontational person at the front desk, but this time I think DVC deserves this. Oh-and so make sure you're dealing with a DVC person, as high up as possible, and not a poor front desk CM who just delivers the news. DVC deserves to have a member flip out in person, not just over the phone.
of course. Someone on TGM in the Oct. vaca club that I knew was staying my same dates just confirmed with me that she got moved to BWV too. I've left a message for a MS supervisor to call me back. I have heard nothing, nada, zip and MS still shows my ressie as AKV-concierge.
I talked to Jesse again today. She said nothing has changed and they will not offer anything else except villa's and those are full. I must be more upset than I realized cuz when I was talking to her I actually started to cry. Uhh, pathetic me! My DH doesn't understand or care, excpet for the extra money cost. Jesse doesn't seem to understand how what they are offering me is not comparable to what I booked last November.
I am ready to cancel this vacation. I am so done with dealing with this. I explained how I had a hard time getting reservations for meals and I could only get them in the parks (of which we had no intention of going). I do not have the few extra hundred dollars to spend on meals for this long weekend. She reminded me the dining would be free and I said except for tip and she told me I didn't ahve to tip. I mean, come on!
Fine they had no notice but they need to go above and beyond to make up for this mess.
If it can't be fixed, perhaps I will join those who are selling thieir DVC once my planned vacations are over. when I book a stay somewhere, I expect to stay there and not be moved with short notice. If I get moved, it better be somewhere comparable or nicer for the problem.
Oh, and I'm waiting for a call back again!

Maggie from MS just called me back and told me if my Oct reservation was impacted by the construction I would have received a phone call and she didn't see us on her list so we should be fine. Let's hope she's right!

Maybe because you are staying in the last weeks of construction the work may be less intrusive and the units may open up again.
I personally, after this, would make a backup October ressie somewhere else if I had the points available.

I'm not sure how they are deciding who to move but one theory we've thought of is we are a family of 5, if they move use we'd need a 2br and since space seems scarce that might have worked in our favor. I have no idea the real reason.
I had also emailed IPO to ask what they knew and the reply indicated that "some rooms" would be impacted but to check with MS.
