Help !!! I just got a call from DSVC saying that

After everything, how was your trip ?

  • It went great, no problems.

  • It had a few problems, but they were fixed nicely and quickly.

  • It had a few problems and it was not fixed to my satisfaction but was attempted.

  • It had problems and we did not get what was promised.

  • The change was a disaster and I am still upset.

  • Explain what happened.....

Wow! This is crazy! DH would have to peel me off the ceiling if something like this happened to me.
 
I talked to Jesse again today. She said nothing has changed and they will not offer anything else except villa's and those are full. I must be more upset than I realized cuz when I was talking to her I actually started to cry. Uhh, pathetic me! My DH doesn't understand or care, excpet for the extra money cost. Jesse doesn't seem to understand how what they are offering me is not comparable to what I booked last November.

I am ready to cancel this vacation. I am so done with dealing with this. I explained how I had a hard time getting reservations for meals and I could only get them in the parks (of which we had no intention of going). I do not have the few extra hundred dollars to spend on meals for this long weekend. She reminded me the dining would be free and I said except for tip and she told me I didn't ahve to tip. I mean, come on!

Fine they had no notice but they need to go above and beyond to make up for this mess.

If it can't be fixed, perhaps I will join those who are selling thieir DVC once my planned vacations are over. when I book a stay somewhere, I expect to stay there and not be moved with short notice. If I get moved, it better be somewhere comparable or nicer for the problem.

Oh, and I'm waiting for a call back again!
 
I must say this is poor show for DVC :( Surely they can add CL to anyones vacation who has sudden;y been so drastically altered and place them in a resort that has CL :confused3 After all it is a minimal amount of persons to reaccommodate for each day.

I'm with you! We are booked in a CL studio for a week in December. I called at 8:59 DBD and almost didn't get it for 2 of the days I wanted! If after all that stress I didn't get to stay in the room I worked so hard to book I'd be fit to be tied! In the least I would ask for a guaranteed CL room for my next stay since they are getting harder and harder to book!
 

If this happened to me, I would just show up like I was never informed of the change and flip out! They are much more inclined to give you things in person than over the phone.

The worst thing that happens is you end up with the same thing you have now anyway so it might be worth a shot. ;)

I'd love to see someone do this. And really flip out! I'm normally a pretty non-confrontational person at the front desk, but this time I think DVC deserves this. Oh-and so make sure you're dealing with a DVC person, as high up as possible, and not a poor front desk CM who just delivers the news. DVC deserves to have a member flip out in person, not just over the phone.

Has anyone that has called been told "yes, some rooms will be closed but it doesn't affect your reservation" ? That is really all I want to hear. When I called this morning they didn't know anything about it :confused3 of course. Someone on TGM in the Oct. vaca club that I knew was staying my same dates just confirmed with me that she got moved to BWV too. I've left a message for a MS supervisor to call me back. I have heard nothing, nada, zip and MS still shows my ressie as AKV-concierge.


This is SO hard! My kids don't know about this trip so I'm trying to work on this today without them knowing and I just want to scream!! :scared1:

You poor thing! I'm sorry, but their response to you is just not acceptable! Ask to speak to a supervisor, and if it's necessary that person's supervisor, and on up the food chain!!

Ok all DVC Guides, I know you read this board. Do something for these poor people!

Remind Member Services That this is the Year Of a Million Dreams They are destroying yours! I just hate that this is happening. From someone that has booked Concierge, I know how hard you work to book this stay. Leave the paperwork out all week until you are finished with the booking. Plan your morning around it. Then with the new reservation policy, who knows what your luck will be again? I would get a supervisior to... at the very least, get you another Concierge stay in the future. DVC owes you that much. The guides market the fool out of the category booking, then for this to happen.
I would send them a Certified letter, I really don't know what good it will do, but I bet my bottom dollar, that if this were a cash stay, you would be booked into another Concierge property. How many are there? Several, I know.
My daughter had a cash stay at SSR last Sept, they did not have something right with the room ( I can't remember exactly what) It really was a minor issue, They gave them a room credit of $60.00. I was shocked, she didn't even ask for it. I thought at the time, If this was DVC, we would have just had to deal with it. It was a Family/friends special, that was running last year. I think she had asked for DDD view, she was booked somewhere else. I mean a really minor issue, this is not anywhere near the same as what you all are dealing with. Of course, she was dealing with CRO, I know this, before someone decides to tell me... LOL.
I am so glad we decided not to go in Oct, I would have a Migraine, what price do you put on that? Again, I am just so sorry. I think they should have waited until Kidani was up and running, as another poster said, at least you would be at AKV, not at SSR, If I wanted to stay at SSR, I would have bought there. That's what I would tell them. Very Very Poor planning on someone's part.
 
Maggie from MS just called me back and told me if my Oct reservation was impacted by the construction I would have received a phone call and she didn't see us on her list so we should be fine. Let's hope she's right!

That's interesting. I asked MS why I hadn't been called yet, and he said there is a list that they are working through and they just hadn't gotten to me yet. It's beginning to make me wonder what exactly is going on.

Seems like we all keep getting different answers.

Maybe because you are staying in the last weeks of construction the work may be less intrusive and the units may open up again.

I personally, after this, would make a backup October ressie somewhere else if I had the points available.

I can hear it now....."Due to further enhancements to AKV Concierge, members and guests will now be relocated to SSR with a generous refund of the difference in points and a Gift Basket" Please ask your Member Services representative for details of this exciting offer":goodvibes
 
Since 3 of the rooms are one view and 2 are the other, I wonder if they are doing this in sections. If so, it's possible, if not likely, we'll have round two of this discussion.

I don't blame you for being upset. It doesn't seem like they are doing what they should to make this right. The Poly has availability for your dates (only deluxe with a room that I could see). When you speak with them again ask
for this and concierge access. It's a different vacation experience than the AK but wonderful. Good luck.

I'm not sure how they are deciding who to move but one theory we've thought of is we are a family of 5, if they move use we'd need a 2br and since space seems scarce that might have worked in our favor. I have no idea the real reason.

I had also emailed IPO to ask what they knew and the reply indicated that "some rooms" would be impacted but to check with MS.

I got a call back, not from Jesse. I was given a $50 credit for my room to charge the tips for the free dining I am getting.

Here's to hoping that a waitlist comes thru.

We do not have the exact dates for the work that will be going on. They
are not closing the lounge just some of the rooms. There is some
exterior rehab work that will be done during that time and it is quite
noisy. You will need to contact member service to find out if you are
affected. They have been trying to reach all of the guests.
