HELP! I am panicking/bawling/freaking out- CRISIS OVERTED

So after MONTHS of planning for my birthday/mother's day trip... booking 11 months out, and then moving to our dream of staying at BLT at the 7 month window.... preparing to leave THIS SATURDAY, I got the most devestating news...

I checked online this morning when I realized that I had forgotten to pay the dues on our last contract (We have 3)... and wanted this 100% cleared by the time we checked in. I admit, my bad for waiting so long, but with the three contracts, in essence, we weren't using any of the 300 points associated with this specific contract, so I didnt think much of it (The points from our other 2 contracts more than covered our points used for this upcoming visit.

Anyway, so I pay online... smile as I see our BLT 2 bedroom reservation (We are bringing along my mom for her first visit to WDW and a visit with her Grandchildren), still sitting there in my "upcoming vacations" section. Push "pay" and the money zooms off my credit card, and over to DVC. I recieved the "thank you for your payment" email, and all was good. (Of course, it says it may take 2 business days to see payment, I am still thinking NP, since we arrive Saturday).

Well, something in me told me to check our reservation tonight.... and when I logged on, my reservation for this Saturday's arrival as well as my Treehouse I had reserved for our December trip were gone, and there was a massive number of points sitting in my account.

Dont tell me it's my fault, I know that... I dont need to be beat up right now... I am devestated and have to wait until 9am EST to call and see what happened. I dont understand however, how they could see that the payment had been made (Since they hadnt cancelled my reservation at the time of my payment), or how they could cancel this reservation when I had enough points with my "paid up" contracts.

I am sooo upset right now, I am just devestated. I really dont know what to do. I am truly crushed about our Treehouse in December, but it is this weekend's trip that has me sobbing uncontrollably and unable to function.

I turned to the DIS, cause it's the only thing I could think of doing... I am just so upset... my children and my mother will be devestated.

What am I to do????
 
Don't worry about it. It's just one of them things. I am sure someone at Disney will be able to help you out. In the mean time have you tried ringing your guide? They may have a bit of sympathy towards you and work some Disney magic.

Hope you get it all sorted. Let us know how you get on.
 
Just want to say that I hope they are able to get you in somewhere for the trip and that once there, no matter where you are, you will have a magical time.
Disney has a way to do that to you!

I'm sorry, and I know you said you didn't want to hear this, but really....FIVE months late is a pretty good grace period on DVC's part if you ask me.

I'm so very sorry for you, but hopefully there will be some availability somewhere for you guys to get into. It may not be your first choice, but it will be better than nothing. Good luck with your call this morning. :grouphug:

100% true. I totally agree... not questioning that AT ALL. But if I had 2 contracts that were paid up, from which these points were taken (We have 800 points between 3 contracts), I thought it would have somehow been ok... so long as our account was totally in good standing before check in, seeing that the points used had AD's that were paid up.

Do I know know that I screwed up? 100%.... and will certainly not make the same mistake again, but right now I am just hoping something can be done.

Everytime I see this I wonder why you would bother a sales rep with this. Your guide is just that someone to sell you more points. They do give a touch of pixie dust if it will make a contract happen but otherwise:confused3

Especially someone who is paying 5 months late.

Hope it all works out for you. As my screen name suggests, I tend to goof up at times, too. And then I panic. And then sometimes it works out and I realize I went through all that for naught. Maybe this will be one of those times for you. I know you had your heart set on BLT this time, but be open-minded to wherever you can get in for this trip. Maybe it will be a different resort, but maybe that will turn out to be really neat in it's own way!

I dont care WHERE we go in terms of resort... and after being up all night... if they cant do anything, I have talked to my father who owns interval, and we will buy a getaway week from him to at least have a roof over our heads. Obviously, at this point.. we are just needing a place to stay once we get off the plane! IF we can get DVC ANYWHERE we will be relieved. Even if we have to split up and get a 1 bedroom and a studio for my mom... so long as we are at the same resort and our reservations are linked.

I am such an idiot. I have to much going on in my life right now...and let something that should have been top of mind slip. I just hope my kids dont pay for my stupidity at this point!
 
I really hope MS can get this straightened out for you. I am not going to cast aspersions for the fact that you didn't pay your dues on time and, at the end of the day, your reservation was still intact when you DID pay so, IMO, they shouldn't have cancelled it afterwards.

Here's hoping it will get sorted and you can get in somewhere now :goodvibes

Don't be too hard on yourself, you will find something and MS will work with you now that you are current.
Sometimes we drop the ball when there are so many in the air. Your children and family will understand because they know you care.

The problem is that in Disney's eyes, it matters not WHICH contracts are current and which aren't. The membership involves the whole, not pieces. For example: I have 3 contracts...two at OKW and one at AKV. When I look online at my information, it is all listed as one membership with 3 seperate contracts. My dues are based on the whole, not each piece. It clearly states something to that effect in the documents as well.

One good thing is that this is not as busy as the last week of the month would be, so you may have little luck this morning when you call. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you in hopes that you get something.

Be sure to come back and report if you found anything or not. I was once able to get an extra night in a 1 bedroom for Labor Day calling just 24 hours ahead, so there IS hope.:wizard:
 
gahhh! I'm so sorry this is happening. Please let us know how it works out. I have a feeling MS will be able to find something for you.

FWIW, my guide told us to call if we EVER had any problems or questions at all, and I do truly believe him...he has never acted as though our "relationship" is done unless we want to buy more points.
 
Here's some pixiedust: for you! Please keep us informed. Don't beat yourself up too much. When life gets so busy and you have so many balls in the air, stuff happens. Have a great time, we'll be arriving on Sat., too!!
 
Can I tell you how much I love Disney? I was on the phone right at 9:00EST and the CM who answered the phone was wonderful. She could obviously tell that I was upset, and immediately calmed me down telling me she would find me SOMETHING. Well that she did. We got a dedicated 2 bedroom at SSR! Is it BLT? NO, but I dont care!!!! It's SSR! I dont mind that! And more importantly, it's DVC... and my kids will never know the crisis that could have been.

She wasnt able (OBVIOUSLY) to re-reserve my treehouse for our Decemeber trip, but I never thought that it would actually be a possibility... chalk that one up to a penalty for my stupidity. She did get us a 2 bedroom lock off at SSR though, and hey... Im not complaining.

Then the sweet CM went a step further and managed to move the points that dropped into "holding" (from our cancellation at such short notice, when our BLT reservation was cancelled) into regular points. There were almost 70 points left over due to the point difference from 2 bedroom lake view BLT to a 2 bedroom at SSR... so that was a wonderful thing for her to do, since we would have been forced to use them within 60 days, and with us living in another Country and at the opposite coast, that just wasnt going to happen.

I am SO happy.

Thank you ALL for the well wishes, pixie dust, fingers crossed and even occasional *** kicking/scolding! I appreciated ALL of it. Now I can go back to planning a magical "First Trip" for my mom... and witness the wonderful-ness of Disneyworld for my children.

so sorry this happened - how about getting the annual dues on automatic draft - then you don't have to do anything (besides making sure there is enough money each month in your account)

was really hoping they could get your BLT reservation back.

hey SSR is definitely better than offsite!!!!

you probably need to do dme again - since you are flying.
