So my daughter was given a lambie that quickly became her absolute favorite lovey of all time. Due to the voice box contained within it is very much not washable. Also this particular Lambie is no longer made. They have changed the way that Lambie talks.

We have tried the swap it for a washable Lambie trick and while she did take to the new Lambie she now just insists on both of them at night as her comfort items.

I have been as careful with it as possible and do not let the unwashable lambie leave the house but after snuggling with it for over a year and a half Lambie is now suffering from quite the body odor. :crazy2:

Do any of you wonderful moms have any miracle tricks to give Lambie a much needed "spa treatment":laundy: without damaging her? (Removal of the voice box is NOT an option. )

Something needs to be done soon and I am terrified of ruining her irreplaceable lovey.:scared:

I would spot clean it, sprinkle it with bicarbonate of soda (which I believe is called baking soda in America), give it some sunshine or outdoor time (maybe pegged on line so that the air can really get thru it) and then vacuum off the powder. Bicarb really works at removing smells and it's great for refreshing lots of things: stuffed animals, shoes, mattresses. I usually add a few drops of a good quality lavender oil to it before which also acts as an anti bacterial and anti fungal and helps to kill the funk. Obviously be careful with aroma type oils around little ones.

A doc mcstuffins lambie? We have the talking one that DD puked on. I split the seam, removed the voice box, washed it (our washer has a stuffed animal setting), and then sewed it back no problem. I did switch the toy for the costco lambie which is bigger and softer (was available last Christmas and should be on ebay).

My DH owns a collectible toystore. There's toy repair places, replacing it, or doing it yourself. It wasn't a hard mend. (Straw stuffed is a really hard repair.)

This one talks through squeezing the hand and is much softer then the others. The person who gave it to her found it on clearance ages ago and I haven't been able to find the exact match since.

Didn't think about a toy repair store. I've been terrified of her getting puke on it. That will be a good option to remember if we ever get to that level of need to clean.
