I came home from work to find a porno site link on my desk top (with picture!) ick, ick, ick!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe it, so I tried to delete by right clicking - access denied, tried dragging and dropping - access denied, so I opened it (eeeewwwwwwww) (the picture was the same) no delete option under the file tab. Can anyone out there please give me directions on how to get this disgusting picture off my desktop. I would be forever in your debt.

YIKES! That has happened to me but I could delete the icon.

Did you ask on the Technical Support board. I'll bet the experts there can help you get rid of this yucky thing.

Do you have a home network with an admin? If so, you might need to get an admin to delete it. If not, go to add/remove programs and see if you can find a program that doesn't belong there. If there's anything suspicious that has installed itself on your system, get rid of it. If that doesn't take care of it, go to task manager (should be able to get to it be pushing ctr+alt+delete) and see if there's a suspicious program running in the backgroung. I once had some spyware install some popup on my system and instead of a porn link on the desktop, I just got a big huge pop up banner. It would pop up randomly whenever it wanted to and that sucker was hard to get rid of too!

Oh thank you! I'm going to try Princess_Aurora's suggestions first and if that doesn't help then I'll try nativetxn's suggestion - I didn't think of that. I am totally freaked out about this. Thank you

Yeaaaaaaaaa!!!!! It's gone - hopefuly forever. Now that my DD's are truamatized. They know better than to open a forward or anything from someone they don't know. Now I don't know how much of this nasty stuff is getting to them. We have AOL and they are on the "mature teen" setting on AOL. I didn't think pictures like this were supposed to be openable (not sure if that is a word but it says what I mean) to them. I'm going to give the software Dan has had success with a try. But I mean, my gosh I feel pretty violated here. You can't even sit in your own house without being assaulted.
