We are planning a trip the BWV in March. How can I get a good room. We are in standard view. Is there a way to get:

good view
Close to BW
Close to swimming
Close to Car

What can I say to MS to get a good view????

Thanks!!!

Good view is very possible with standard view. I think some of these have a view of Illuminations. Others here will be able to specify

Close to BW is tough with standard view

Close to car is also tough, since nearly everything is far from the parking at BWV.

Don't know about close to swimming.

I have a lot of trips under my belt to my beloved home resort of BWV, so I will try to help.........
Standard view villa with a:
Good view-many of the standard view villas have a wonderful view of Illuminations and the higher fireworks of Fantasmic. The further away from the central elevators the better the views of the nighttime fireworks. You can hear the music from both shows also!
Close to BW-I am assuming you mean close to the boarwalk for enjoying the boardwalk not for a room view since you stated you will be in a standard view villa. All the villas at BWV are close to the Boardwalk. You just walk to the elevator and take it down to the boardwalk and there you are. I know some love to greatly exaggerate the size of BWV, in reality none of the rooms are any further of a walk to the elevators, lobby etc than any of the rooms at the other WDW deluxe resorts i.e. YC, BC, GF etc.
Close to Swimming--Luna Park which is the main pool at BWV/BWI with the pool slide, life guards, pool bar and hot tub is located on the villas side of the resort. Again like the access to the boardwalk, the main pool is just a matter of walking to the elevator and taking it to the ground floor, exiting the building and turning to your left.
Close to Car--BWV is a true deluxe resort with full resort amenities including valet parking! Your car is only a phone call away and it will be brought to the front door for you, it will be nicely cooled down and running. Pure vacation pampering!

How specifically do you request your rooms? What do you say? Do you say "Please give me a room close to the BW"?

I am not sure I understand what you mean. If you mean a boardwalk view villa they are preferred view villas and are reserved ahead of time and are guaranteed reservations. If you mean close to access to the boardwalk then you want to either be near the elevators or near the stairs and yes you just ask for a room near the elevators or stairs. Believe me, NONE of the BWV villas are far from the boardwalk. All you have to do is exit the building on that side and there is the boardwalk in all it's splendor!

You need to decide what is MOST imporatant to you and ask for that. My feeling is that when you have a LIST they sometimes just pick one.

Keep in mind that ALL rooms are at Disney.

I would request top floor across from the bus stop. This will give you a great view of Illuminations. It's about half way down the hall from the elevator and half way from the steps that provide a short cut to the bus stop and parking lot.

I would recommend ground floor. You will give up the view portion, but you are in a standard view anyway. We have stayed in a ground floor standard view and it was close to everything, pools, BW, and car. We could see the bus stop and the kids would go out on the patio and play in the grassy area to run off some energy. Beware of the ducks trying to gain access to your room though.....
