Hello,

I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have answered an ad to rent a week at a DVC resort this summer from someone who is an RCI member. It is at a substantial savings over Disney's rate, so wondered if it's too good to be true. I have read many posts regarding renting from DVC members, but none about renting from an RCI member.

Any insight? Is this "legal"? Any difference from renting from a DVC member? I have a coworker who is a DVC member and checked availablilty for that week, but DVC states they are booked, so renting from a DVC member is not an option.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ray

"Renting" an RCI exchange (or Bonus Vacation) is considered a violation of Terms and Conditions between RCI and its member. Please review section 14, "Guests/Guest Certificates." Snippets from that section:
RCI Terms and Conditions said:
Guest Certificates are non-transferable, and may not be used for any commercial purpose, including auction, rental or sale. Their use is subject to any conditions, restrictions or limitations which may be imposed by the Host Resort.
RCI Terms and Conditions said:
RCI reserves the right, in its sole discretion (without refund or credit), to revoke a Confirmed Exchange or Guest Certificate, terminate or suspend the membership of the relevant Member, or deny access to any of the products or services offered in connection to a membership in the event a Member, or the Member's guests, or the holder of a Guest Certificate breach these Terms and Conditions.
I'd steer clear of this offer!
