Help for a Dad - new to Magic Bands and FastPass+

So we are doing a guys trip to WDW at the end of May, my 16 year old son and I...first time in 3 years, which means this is our first visit with Magic Bands and FP. We are staying at Pop Century and will be there for 4 days. I am worried and feeling a little overwhelmed because I am late to the game with planning, but the opporutnity to go on this trip came up last minute.

Any tips for us as we start our planning? How should I do FP? We will likely stay later and start our day later, rather than doing RD every day as we have done in the past.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I plan our FPS for the big rides running 10 - 11 11-12 12-1. I use them at 11, 11:15 and 12 and then immediately book another with the app.

That gives you the mornings to rope drop and do a bunch before the lines build or sleep in a bit knowing when you get to the park you have a big 3 rides in your pocket.

First - the list of 'must ride or do' and figure out how to get those rides in, most likely on fastpass since you are not leveraging the parks when they are at their emptiest (ropedrop or really late at night - say, post 11 pm if the parks are open that late when you visit)

End of May? Are you referring to Memorial Day weekend? It will be crowded because of the holiday and the official opening of Pandora on May 27th

So late to the game - if those days are in your plans and Animal Kingdom is a park you must hit, do it BEFORE the 27th - opening weekend will be crazy crowded and maybe,just maybe in the days leading up to the opening you might stumble across a soft opening of Pandora

If you are not going to be at rope-drop you should use you FP+ in the morning with the hopes of possibly getting same day fastpasses when the morning ones are used

Take mid-day breaks when the crowds really build

If you're not morning people - I assume you operate better at night - leverage night EMH and the parks at night in general - if no night-time EMH, pick a park that did not have morning EMH or that had an EMH on either end of the day yesterday

Lastly, since you are staying on property - AK Pandora will be open every night for EMH for resort guests from 11pm to 1am from May 27th through the beginning of July
