Help! ebay seller question: "Item not received" by buyer :(

I don't know anyone who likes ebay now or even uses them to sell. Just too many issues, unfair, no help and they're not nice to sellers.

I didn't know that. Well, the buyer I had with the lost item said she knows what happened, it was stolen from her apt door and it happens all the time so she left a note for the mailman NOT to leave, but he did. Her neighbor had several pkgs stolen as well. So she tells me just send her another one or refund her $. How is that MY fault??? I told her she should always ask for signature on delivery if that's the case. Ebay sided with me since I did provide the tracking number. I have to go to my PO to see how to file an insurance claim. 5000 pkgs and I have only had to do this one other time, so I guess I have been lucky. I have had LOTS of people say they didn't receive an item and once tracking was provided they "find" it.

eBay top rated sellers get $100 of insurance included when they buy their priority shipping via eBay.

Oh wow, I did not know that - I am top rated plus so that is great news. Do you know where it shows that on eBay's website (I searched and cannot find it) or how the claims are filed if ever needed? I just wonder if the claims are then filed through eBay instead of USPS since USPS would likely just give the $50?

It was announced back in August

On the screen to print labels via ebay shipping if you select priority shipping there will be a note that $100 of insurance is included. I'm assuming the Post Office has a special agreement with ebay so they know which electronic shipping labels are purchased through ebay and include the $100 insurance.

If you are top rated you really should buy priority shipping via ebay because of the included insurance and the fact that you get commercial plus pricing. The discount is greater than the regular discount you get for buying your shipping electronically.

Thanks for the info! I do print all of my labels through eBay so that is great to know!

And OP - so glad the item was found! I had that happen to me once as a seller as well, and that buyer's box turned up also.

Yes, I am a top rated seller. I definitely get $100 in insurance when I use paypal or ebay to print my labels. It is very clearly stated.

I see a PP answered this already, but it's shows up on the screen where you enter the weight and choose your shipping preference. If you click on priority mail it shows $100 insurance included down where you can add insurance.
