HELP dogs brought in a rat!

I'm so disgusted. I found a dead rat on a dog bed. Never have any of these dogs killed or brought in an animal! I suspect it was already dead because none of them are fast enough to have caught it. Now, one of my them threw up her dinner. Could they have ingested poison if the rat died of poisoning? What are the symptoms? Do I need to load up all 5 of them and take them to the vet? UGH I'm so grossed out I may throw up myself.

Maybe you could call your local emergency vet center and see what they recommend. Yuck... hope the dogs are ok.

Either that or poison control centre.

Call Poison Control. They'll be able to tell you if this is an emergency or just "icky".

I'd call my vet not poison control. But either way that gave me the willies. I feel for you.

Poison Control will answer calls about animals. I have had to call twice about my Standard Poodle and they seem to have the information I needed readily at hand.
